Soooo.....

If one was to get a complete upper in 7.62x39...and put it on an AR lower.....you'd basically have an Ar47... right?

What mags would you use for 7.62??

DS

I have a buddy that runs nothing but Dura-Mag brand in his. Ihave never owned one, but have seen his run without a hiccup with them.

ive recently made the move and those duramags run great. ive read some mixed reviews on the ar stoner mags and only have one - but havent had any issues with it either.

just got this email from windham they have in stock but have found classic firearms had for better price (just havent checked recently)

you will greatly appreciate the cost savings switching over to the cheaper 762 round too with todays prices/availability.

i like mine so much i may even sell my aks.

I have several of the ar stoner branded mags. I think they are ASC or C-product made. I haven't had that rifle out in a while.

But I have never had a single feeding issue in well over 1k rounds.

Only the rare light strike with tulammo for that particular rifle overall. It was built cheap too.

AR x39 mags haven’t been stellar as a whole from my experience. There are combinations that work, but they seem to be dependent on mag, ammo and gun factors all be correct. AR x39 mag issues are what led me to sell my 7.62 conversion kit for my Robinson XCR.

Like Punisher mentions above, it seems that guns like the CMMG Mutant (think it’s part of their Banshee line now) that use AK mags work better for x39 in an AR package.

CMMG...........

Rock River makes a passable substitute that also feeds from AK magazines.

And i think Windham makes a convertible multi caliber set up with interchangeable mag wells.

But in the four years I've owned this rifle it's never failed to deliver, and CMMG customer service is second to none
