Are ADE pistol RDS any good?

I'm looking for a cheap red dot to mount on a .22lr plinker. It won't be used for anything other then entertainment. It's not a defence gun and it won't be used for any kind of competition.

Does anybody know if the cheap ADE pistol sights are any good? Or have other recommendations? I have a few holosun's that I really like but I can't really afford another one right now.

I use an ADE on a tx22. Works fine, nothing to write home about, but it does work. Bushnell makes a ~$100 one now as well with a side loading battery.

Don't know anything about ADE sights.

There is always the PA micro dot or Bushnell TRS 25, both well proven, inexpensive and reliable for their price range but older technology without the extreme battery life of newer models. If you want a micro sized unit the Burris Fastfire III is a good value IMO.

It is for a pistol sorry. I forgot to specify that in the first post. I would prefer not to use the larger picatiny mounted sights.
