Is he a dim light bulb or a genius? Many airplanes will fly high and dump millions of tons of calcium carbonate into the upper atmosphere reflecting sunlight away from the Earth.
This sound exactly what may happen if we have massive nuclear weapons detonated, a nuclear winter.

Shut up Bill Gates.

See what happens when you take the Covid Vaccine.

Trade off from reduced photosynthesis would completely offset this, even before factoring in the cost to launch the stuff.

I wonder whether the decrease in incoming short wavelength solar radiation would be more than offset by decreased outgoing long wavelength radiation? Would it be a sunshield or a thicker blanket? The modeling those folks have done has not been too accurate.

Bill,

Go enjoy some good dim sum and leave dim sun and the rest of the human race alone.

GG

So solar power is not the future?

Actually, this isn't something new, and it can be done at an exceptionally cost effective way. To the tune of tens of millions of dollars, not billions or trillions of dollars.

I've got to find an article on this I ran across elsewhere. I believe it's dated about a decade or so ago.

Turning the deserts white (instead of black with solar panels) will cool the planet.

Ah...found it:

And, like it or not, Bill Gates funds a lot of really cool R&D. Ever heard of a Traveling Wave Reactor? Google it. Imagine a nuclear reactor you can operate for a century without having to refuel.

I only speak in little words, but this thought occured to me, too

This is just too dumb.

Yup
But

Old saying; "what happens when you give Dumb people money?"

Loosely, as I recall Gates purchased D.O.S. and early versions of Microsoft were based on it.

Also, I largely remember Gates as being an effective marketing strategist to sell ~ force Windoze into the market place.

His talents seem to be much stronger in sales ~ marketing as I believe others were responsible for continued development of Windoze.

Why do people think that Bill Gates is some sort of technology Oracle? He developed a computer operating system 40 years ago and made some killer deals. Since then, what has he done? How has his accomplishments made him into an authority on everything from climate change to vaccines?

Simpsons did it.
