ATF agent cuffed & tased

I hope you’re kidding.

1) Local PD rolls up on a call regarding a potential home invasion/impersonating police.
2) They arrive to a guy who won’t comply to orders and that guy has a gun on his hip.
3) The suspect continued to not comply with the cops going hands-on.
4j The suspect is still alive/not hospitalized.

His whiteness absolutely plays a role in step 4.

Hmmm. Let me start with, I don’t have a fondness for batfeces or any other group of letters.
But the two cops are deserving of a permanent vacation. Brown holes both of them.
They could have let him show ID.
I’m pretty sure I’d have been ventilated because I wouldn’t have gotten on the ground either.

I just curious if you would get close to someone reported to be a fake LEO so that he could reach behind himself and pull something out of his pocket to show you?

Maybe you see what you look for.

I would like to see video of the PD Sargent and AFT supervisor's chat.
That ATF guy didn't show a moment of professionalism, common sense, nor any awareness of how to respond to police officers with weapons drawn. It may be that when the PD Sargent said, "we have had a problem with one of your men..." the Supervisor knew immediately whose name he was going to hear next.

I see a lot wrong in that video.
I deal with LEO a lot,,, and in my opinion,,, BOTH agencies involved have serious issues.

As for his credentials,, at the very end,, after he's out of the car,, they pull his neck lanyard with creds on it if I understand what I saw correctly.

Local PD guys can be overzealous,, and you can bet,, that if the guy was legit,, and the locals need his help in the future,, they won't get "Inter-agency cooperation."
And the Fed,, he,, like so many innocent people,, feel they are being wronged & want to argue immediately. Human nature.

Lots wrong all over that one.

Why is that White privilege?
Re-imagine that video with the ATF agent starting out as a black man instead of a white man ... and then have the ATF agent behave as he did. How would it play out?

The fact that the guy failed to comply as steadily and loudly as he did and was 'only' manhandled and tased ... instead of shot dead when he so much as reached ever so slightly toward his waist ... is why it was white privilege.

Given the events and turmoil of the last year or so, a black ATF agent who behaved as this agent did would probably be treated with kids gloves so as not to raise shouts of racism.

Lots of people want to find racism in about everything going on these days. I see no racism here.

No one suggested there was racism in that. What ME. suggested was there was White Privilege at play in that video. (White Privilege isn't inherently racist. Rather, the fact that not everyone has it regardless of race, creed, or color is what makes White Privilege a symptom of what's commonly called 'systemic racism'.)

And as Forrest Gump would say, "That's all I have to say about that..."

Assuming folks have "privilege" based on melanin content is inherently racist, and you may have a lot more in common with Forrest Gump than you realize.

Is it bad that I was laughing pretty much the entire time? The ATF agent got treated like usually the folks they deal with get treated.

With proper training the ATF agent should have overcome his human nature. I thought that was the reason of training.

The woman (homeowner?) made the remark that he twisted her door knob and was ordering her to open the door. She did right by calling 911. I guess the Fed never heard of the term "warrant"?

Have you ever found yourself getting a little excited, not listening, trying to talk over someone else to convince them they should listen to you, while pointing a lethal powie at their chest? Have you ever tried to explain that you aren't doing anything wrong and you are part of the "team" so special consideration should be given? I have not yet been confronted with either scenario. I hope I never am. I do wonder what mentality it puts you in though. Cops, like the rest of us, lose the ability to critically think and gather data pertinent to making good decisions when things get anxious. It is natural. I am guilty of this as well. As my uncle (fought in a war and survived) once told me......... "Boy. Calm the f#@k down, If you lose your head, you'll lose you head". I have come to believe he is correct.

To this I'd say about the same thing the atf agent said. Of course she did she knows who I am and why I want to talk to her. Paraphrasing of course.

I don't see any "white privilege". I imagine this same thing happens thousands of times across the country to people of color. The difference is, the media doesn't show us the encounters like this between white officers and people of color.

I dont think the local LEO did anything wrong.

1. Receive a 911 call about someone impersonating an officer
2. When confronted, the suspect doesn't comply and escalates the situation
3. Local LEO does what he has been trained to do in that situation
4. Suspect continues to antagonize LEO and escalates the situation even more.

My non LEO opinion, the cops walked into a situation where the suspect could or could not actually be a LEO. Local PD had to approach an armed suspect that would not follow commands and did not act like a professional LEO should in that situation.

The agent was a total loudmouth ass, but he never ran his hands into his pockets or made swift, erratic movements,..... yet you want me to believe he didn't get shot only because of his skin color?? LOL

People who are used to being targeted unfairly adapt quicker than those with color of authority. My nephew pulled over a car load of guys one night for speeding and every one of them went rigid, hands on the wheel, dash, back of seats. He figured they were up to no good and asked why they were all so nervous. Turns out they were from Ward ? something in Houston where driving while black can get you shot. Cops don't need a better excuse in that place. That dynamic works both ways maybe; screws with survival instincts. Doesn't explain stupid real well, however....

So...I’m not sure who I’m supposed to be mad at here.
I'm kinda fine with ATF being treated this way. If my vote no longer matter because of election fraud, I wish all local LEO treated all feds this way.

I'm not really sure if I'm being serious or facetious.

After 2020...it may no longer be safe for any adult to take me serious any longer.

What chaps my cheeks is the reason the police acted based on a call someone was there impersonating a police officer.
SO based on the call (true or not) the locals had the guy pegged as guilty before they got there.
So the Fed couldn't have done anything right for the local boys anyway. (who cares).

I think I will try that if the cops ever show up at my house.
I'll call 911 and say someone is at my door impersonating a police officer, then the boys in blue show up all pissy and taze and arrest them.
Easy. Why didn't I think of that?

White people die at a statistically greater rate at the hands of police than do black people. So I believe Me was just trolling. I don't believe he's that stupid. So I'm laughing at his obvious joke.

I just came back to watch the video again because *DAMN* that's funny 🤣 🤣

Well you missed that one, try again. 🤣
