In an attempt to better provide oversight, cut down wait times, and increase efficiency, two distinct new branches have been formed: The Industry Processing Branch (NFA IPB) and the Government Support Branch (NFA GSB).

The NFA IPB is responsible for industry forms processing and working towards refining current operations.

The duties of the NFA GSB include processing SOT applications, government transfers, exemptions, and expediting LEO/Gov requests.

Furthermore, a new NFA Division Staff Program Office has been formed to manage publications, FOIA requests, respond to data calls, and oversee the vetting of statistical data.

Remove SBR's and suppressor from NFA list and their work load work cut in half [emoji12]

Well, (assuming you're not just going to dismantle the NFA) if you're going that route. Take AOWs and SBSs off at the same time.

Of course, eliminating the ATF and DEA entirely would be preferable. Both have a long and colorful record of corruption and abuse under the color of authority.

A re-org of a government agency never improves anything from the civilian point of view, it only adds to the clusterfarkedness.

As I said in the other thread. The wait times will get worse before they get better. They process 20k applications a month and have close to 400k application backlog. 20 months to clear it. That is from an atf agent that worked in bag previously

20k a week or month?

20k a week would be 20 weeks of backlog.

Also remember they are also processing form 2 and 3s those are not even part of the 400k backlog of applications.
