It is an honor to receive this status of Winner of Rimfire Champion. I know I shot pretty good, but I also know that there was others who shot better and chose not to post scores.
I have chosen a target which I think will be more challenging than "The Cans". I hope everyone enjoys it.
One shot at each Bee, 10 points for each hit in the body, 2 points if you hit the legs or Antennas and 3 points if you hit a wing.
If you hit the Baby it's minus 25 points.
A perfect score is 130 points. Good Luck to all participants!

The Head is part of the Body. I started to give headshots a higher point value but since we had at the least a three way tie on " The Cans", I decided to leave headshots off in case of some perfect score ties.

I gave my Bee Target a try this morning, 8/11/22, at the FOP Range. First time I have had the opportunity to shoot in a while and I was on a short time line.
I started out shooting some CCI standard velocity target to warm my barrel and then switched over to Lapua CenterX. I started at the top.left and saw that I was shooting to the right. I made a 1 click adjustment which should have been to the left except I turned it the wrong way.
I kinda got back on track starting on Top Right side.
My Total score today was 82 points, so I have left the field open. I WILL shoot again in the future.

It doesn't seem like we have had very many BEE shooters. What were your results. I know my score was beat by a few points.

I printed targets but I have a lingering covid cough. I can't get my breathing controlled for shooting just yet. Getting there slowly.

A quite morning at the range. I have found out my Rifle likes SK Rifle Match, which is a little cheaper than Lapua Center X. So I tried it out on the Bee target. Improved my previous score of 82 to a 116 out of a possible 130.
This target is harder than it looks.
Good luck to everyone who tries it.

It's very possible I will not be able to. The baby should take out a life insurance policy.
I did this for fun a couple years ago with open sights for fun on one of our other targets with small targets. Couldn’t see a thing. Basically just aimed at various areas of the white rectangle (all I could see was a sheet of paper). It was interesting for sure!!

I feel your pain! As I stated before this target is harder than it looks, even through a Scope.
I guess you could enlarge a copy by 200% then shoot it and then reduce it back down.

😉 😉

You think anyone would notice the resulting target looked like somebody had shot .11 caliber bullets at it?

Are you going to post any pictures, or do we need to contact Orkin.
I fixed the posting.
Seriously, on the very same backer board there were THREE bullseyes I practiced on, plus fouler shots.
The bullseyes all had 5 shot groups at less than 1/2" ... before I went out and stapled this one up.
Aaargh.
I will have a rematch with the bees on Friday, weather permitting.

So you shot 3 different Rifles and scored 3 perfect Scores. I am impressed. As far as I know you and one other person, who is not participating in this have scored a perfect score.
Did you shoot the same ammo in all 3 Rifles or do they each have a brand they like?
Is the Anshutz 54 similar to my Rifle a Winchester 52C?

The actions are apples and oranges. While the 52C's were remarkably accurate in their own right, The Anschutz 54 action is superior (and came later). Anschutz has been using an evolution of the 54 action in their top-tier rifles for roughly 60 years now, and it's still a top contender. The lock times are incredibly short.

i shot tenex in the Sako and the Martini, and center x in the anschutz. The ammo really varies, the martini really likes a certain eley match lot number, but I am saving the last 3 boxes for competition. The anschutz is from 1965. Both the anschutz and martini at 50 yards are great, but I cannot get a win at 100yards. The sako shoots well at 100, but a custom barrel limits my classes. Anyone knows where I can get Midas + would be appreciated. all 3 likes it, but again the lot number has an effect. I am scheduling a velocity test with a chrono on each rifle in the next couple of weeks. I am starting to believe the quality control is not as good as it used to be. OH yes, my scores are not in the qualifying to win the competition, just for personal satisfaction. I may try to get a target without need of the magnifier, not sure at this point.

Thanks for the information. I believe Optics Planet has Midas but not sure about Midas+. The price is getting outrageous.

I looked at 4 bricks of Midas+ today sitting on the shelf at my LGS. $21 per box of 50

I did order a brick for around $190 a few months ago.

Shot a score of 81 today, better than the 52 from the previous try.

I will 'bee' happy if I can get 120, so time to find some ammo that's more consistent than Norma TAC-22.

I have Eley Force and Eley Contact, but neither seemed to group much better than the TAC-22.
I tried SK+ (yellow and black box) but that wasn't better.
CCI SV was not as good as the Norma TAC-22.
Have yet to try some RWS, Aguila, and Sellier & Bellot subsonic I have.

Wonder if Norma Match is any good?

Maybe I need to step up to Lapua, or Tenex?

Congratulations on improving your previous score. I do hope you try to improve your score to the "Low Standard" that you set for your Rifle.
I have previously been shooting Lapua Center X in my Rifle but the last Bee target was shot with SK Rifle Match. Like the Lapua it is getting harder to find and Price is still going up. Optics Planet is having a Labor Day sale on it now.

I gave it my first try today! Just haven't found time to try it until now. Shot 4 targets 48 was worst 116 was best. Shooting Eley CMP ammo today, CZ 455, Athlon Helos BTR, bipod up front, bag in rear.IMG_20220904_164409.jpgIMG_20220904_172233.jpg

Glad you finally got to feeling better. That is a pretty good score, ties with mine. I am hoping to try it one more time but Archery Deer Season ( Sept 10) may keep me away.
