I’m three years younger than my dad, and five years younger than his dad, when they passed.
And it has had my attention since my dad passed 25 years ago. It’s like it’s tattooed on my forehead.

Same feeling here my friend for the last ten years which is when I slipped past the age of his demise and then continued skating in the 60's.....
My dad passed away at 53 and his dad passed in his early forties.

I have a 45 year old son......and some not quite so old.
And I'm not admitting to anything else.
I'm old enough to be his oldest son ^

No one here would have ever figured our little secret out if you had not posted that. Now @Burt Gummer is gonna be asking family history questions again. Thanks a lot.

Kids...……..they can't keep a secret no matter what...........Geez

I'm mid to late 30's.

Kind of distressing there aren't more people in their 20's/30's. I know most of them are more invested in social media, but like anything else, getting younger people involved is the future of keeping something alive.

For those of us who are older, forums are pretty easy to navigate because that's what we grew up or started on. I don't think your average 25 year old who's into gun culture on instagram really knows or cares about a forum setting.
Shame too, because those big faceless media corporations can pretty quickly yank your content out from under you and ban your account if they don't like what you post. It happens on instagram all the time.

I meet lots of younger guys (no better way to phrase that, so have at it, jerks) that are plenty into firearms; I think it is the message board forum format that is more alien to them.

Agreed...….Nail on head sir.

I got on the last forum when I was in my 20's. Honestly couldn't have told you what a forum was or been interested if I was directed here. It was an alien concept compared to newer social media. Now this is the only social media I am involved on at 31.

I'm old-ish. I prefer this format. It's similar to what I used on my 56.6 modem, and the style has been working fine for a few decades.
issues of being full of idiots aside, all the new social media things keep changing their formats all the time. it irritates me. i'd be fine with any of them if they just kept them the same (except for twitter, because it's a total pain to use on a real computer)

24.5 yrs old........Twice!!!

I am 60ish, look 40ish, feel 20ish

Don't know exactly how to vote.

I'm 36. Been a member of various gun forms for well over 10 years.

I also know some younger guys into guns, but they're more into social media sites than forums. I think that's a shame, because I much prefer the forum format over things like facebook/twitter/instigram, etc.

It seems the forum format is slowly wasting away. Its only in the firearms community that I've noticed that it remains strong, which is a shame. I'd love for them to make a comeback.

It's also bad because on the facebook/twitter/Instagram sites it's easier to get red flagged, you cant B/S/T, and it's easier to have your life destroyed by a random person. Who you will probably never meet.

Agree with you... I started out with a U.S. Robotics 2400 baud internal modem, dialing up BBS numbers and chatting on forums with this kind of format (but VERY different content). This is way more comfortable than swiping left & right on a phone.

I guess I can do a summary. The percentages are shown in the poll.

...and we still don’t know how those results are skewed. Does 4oish = in their 40’s? Or 36-45? :D

My guess is that ish means 8 to 7 like 38-47, 58 to 67, etc.
Some take the number literally. Some will turn the mark next year, etc.
So, it all evens out in the end.

Well @Geezer is moving to Texas so that will bring our average way down.

The internet in Texas will reach to the Carolinas, I've tried it. I'm going to stay on the forum just to keep the average up.

That is how I understood it and prompted my 50ish choice.
