Backup code

I had to use a backup code to log in on my phone this morning. My two step verification would not send a code. I was still logged in on my Chromebook, and the 'app' worked fine. On my desktop, I could not connect without disabling my VPN (Nord), which has never been a problem before. Is this at my end or is something going on, site security wise?

I have had similar issues a couple of times in the past. What helps for me is to go to the browser in the phone or computer and delete all history clearing out all history. I use a file manager and clean out downloaded stuff I don't need to keep. Then turn the phone or computer off and do a restart. I also use an anti-virus software like McAfee that came with the phone. In my experience, phones need to be turned off once in awhile so they can restart and remember what they are supposed to be doing. This may help.
