Battle of the Glocks

I went from a Gen5 G19 to a G45 Gen5 a couple years ago. I have medium sized but fat hands, and carry concealed every day that I am not on duty. I liked the feel of the G45 better and didn't feel as crowded on the grip. I also liked the capacity upgrade but admittedly it's almost moot (15+1 vs. 17+1) Loved it until I went to full-time G43 carry. I won't split hairs though, especially for others, but I liked the difference.

I have the right side slide lock ground off on my Gen5s-that's my only gripe on them. While it doesn't bother most, my "pad"on my right finger rode on it and gave me issues with not letting the slide go forward on reloads.

I own and carry both. I have large hands and I can get a much better purchase on the G45 when I draw from concealment. I have a little more confidence shooting with the G45 but it’s probably a mental thing. i will say that with the G19 I have pinched the heal of my hand while reloading and that is not fun. I tend to carry the G19 only when I’m wearing a snug fitting shirt (which is not very often). I would suggest going to a range that has both available to test fire and go from there. Good luck!

45 basically the same as carrying a 17.
I agree with you regarding the grip length but having carried both aiwb the G45 doesn’t dig into my crotch as bad while seated. This is most notable while driving for extended periods. YMMV

I’ve personally had experience with both, the 19 just works better for actually concealing especially during the summer. The longer grip of a 45 just sticks out a bit too far for me. And to give you an idea I’m 5’7 and weight 170.

As others have said the longer grip frame is not great for concealed carry. That extra length makes a difference. The only way I would consider that model is if you cannot get a “full” grip on the 19.

I won’t lie, I love the 19X. I can’t really explain why other than it feels like a well balanced and just good feeling gun in my hand. I can conceal the 19X but typically Ccw my 43 or may eventually carry my nee 365.

I own a G19, dagger compact, and dagger S (full size G45 equivalent)

I've shot the daggers the most funny enough with a ton of rounds and carry time on them.

To me the full size is basically just as easy to carry and shoots every so slightly better. I also appendix carry with a full size light more often than not, so maybe a 17 Would make more sense for me, but that's neither here nor there.

The 45 should carry just fine with a good belt and holster, and will probably shoot slightly better.
