Or shagging music. I learned to shag at the ripe old age of 6.

But I grew up boxing in tournaments every week from the age of 9 to about 15 when I reached golden gloves and then discovered girls so I stopped.

My parents pretty much only listened to beach music and most matches were a 2 hour drive away. A few years of nerves with beach music in the background and I had a Pavlovian butterfly response for a long time after I quit. Any beach song that came on the radio and it was instant nerves.

Finally stopped about the time I got married and I taught my wife how to shag. We’ve discovered you can shag to pretty much any song with the right rhythm, even country, so long as you don’t mind the stares.

But enough about that. Here’s one of my favorites.

And this one brings back so many memories of my brother and I as kids (when we weren’t fighting) trying to sing along in harmony in the car on road trips.

My wife's favorite movie..... I have to admit it's pretty good.

My sister was married to one of the guys in the Catalinas who then left to play with the Entertainers. I spent many evenings in beach bars back when you could drink a beer at 18.

And of course the all time classic.

Not beach music but if we’re out for her birthday and there’s a band I get them to play her song and you can defiantly shag to it.

Edit: I was about to come change the bad autocorrect of defiantly back to what I meant to say, which was definitely, but somehow defiantly seems more accurate.

And I think I might have quoted these guys when I proposed.

You mean surf music?

You never fail to surprise me.

Forgive me Chad if this isn't considered beach music but I recently came across this video on YouTube and thought I'd post it here. The guy on the drums is astonishing.

Danced with a lot of pros back then. By far Ellen Taylor was the smoothest lady I ever danced with other than Chicken Lady.. Like Cbicken Lady all it took was just a twitch of her wrist to lead her. Ellen danced like her feet never touched the floor.

We also used to dance a lot of pro am mixed doubles.
