I’ve been carrying AIWB and it made me think it’s probably similar to a belly band.

anyone run one? the newer versions that incorporate kodex are intriguing

As an instructor,, we have a pair of them around here. One for me,, & one for my wife.
Why?
Well, they are an option some like.
First off,,, they offer a deep concealment option. Excellent. Properly worn,, it's not too hard to access the firearm.
Downside,, if worn next to the skin, it gets warm under the band.
Also, elastic will stretch out as time goes & under use.
Ladies do like them,, as they don't often wear a heavy gun belt with a "normal" holster.

I’ve carried quite a bit with a Kangaroo Carry setup, which rides a little higher, but never tried a belly band. The KC setup is what I used before I went with a Fat Boy belt and Chief Jason OWB pancake setup. I’d still use it if I was in a situation where belt/ankle carry wasn’t an option.

My wife got one this week and thus far she loves it. She likes it better than having to wear a belt or carry in her purse. She is left handed. It seems to work with any IWB holster.

I had one I used for a long time. It’s versatile so you can carry at different positions and your can carry different size handguns. Most come with other pockets for mags, flashlight, etc. My band was a 4” model. Some are bigger but I wasn’t a fan.

My wife got ahold of it when she was pregnant with the twins. Let’s just say it doesn’t fit me anymore. 😆

My son carries with one. Never seen him with an in the waste band or outside the waste. He doesn’t keep it on more than a couple hours each time. Tough to wear outside in the summer he says. Daughter has one. Rarely carries except when running and that’s when it’s used.

I tried several belly bands when I was trying to get happy with carrying, but they were SO hot, and the gun flopped about a lot. I used to carry bigger guns than I do now, though. Still, 2# of gun would probably make it sag. A teeny gun might be ok.

I ended up with a < 2" stiff belt worn just around my waist, not in pants loops. Works great for me. No gun flopping about, and no need to have the gun around my knees or ankles when peeing, as it stays on my waist.

I've had a couple, really thought the idea was a terrific one. I agree with the other members who say the belt retains a ton of body heat, not super comfy against the skin. I have never had any issues with movement or "flopping" around of my firearm with the use of one of these though. Simply do not find them to be all that comfortable. I definitely prefer an "Remora" or "sticky" holster in the IWB Abdominal carry position. This style of holster allows me to carry no matter the outfit or whether, does not require any special belt, and is very concealable. Virtually no "printing" and no visible clip on the belt. Although there is no specific retention device inside the holster I have never in everyday carry for 3 years now with this type of holster had any shifting, movement, or any issues with retention. It is easy to draw from, the holster stays in plays and is easy to re-holster as well, sometimes may take a quick visual check but typically can be done with one hand. Just my two cents.

The way I am shaped (fat) I can conceal a 43x very effectively with a belly band. It's not my favorite way to carry but it works for me in certain situations. If I put it on at mid-low chest level kinda at the top of my gut the gun just disappears. I can do that at 12 o clock or 9o clock as a right hander. (Similar positions to chest and shoulder rigs)

It is not super fast access and as it stretches out you may have to re tighten or adjust it. It can be hot sometimes. It is definitely not ideal but in some circumstances it is a really good option. It is one of my first choices in any situation where I have to wear swim trunks. Even if I wade into the surf or a creek or whatever the gun is riding nice and high, staying dry.

For me the ones with snaps print a lot more then a Velcro tab. Just the snap itself printing but it still annoys me.

I used them for a while many years ago. IMO the band itself doesn't hold the firearm adequately for vigorous activities, but worn on the waist your belt adds the required tension to make the gun secure. I wiped out on a mountain bike thusly adorned and the gun remained in place.

Two things I didn't like: the band would slowly ride up my waist and had to be adjusted a couple of times a day, and secondly I felt that it noticeably increased my girth, which a IWB holster just does in one spot but the band did all the way around. If you do get one don't get the ones with the mag pockets next to the gun pocket, get one with the mag pocket(s) on your weak/support side.

I have a couple of these. They can get uncomfortable at the connecting seam/joint. I put a piece of cotton shirt under it to reduce irritation.
They will definitely get warm in the summer.

I used a ComfortTac belly band for about 9 months. It had stretched out and needed to be replaced at that time. I went another direction.
Being stretchy obviously you have to pull the top of it open to holster the weapon. Not that big a deal I guess but it exists. That Crossbreed you linked to would solve that issue.
Had velcro on mag pouches for attaching anywhere you wanted.
It carried a Shield or g43 quite well and felt secure. The m&p 40 compact was way too much for it.
Warmish as stated but it wasn't unbearable. I got used to it I guess.

I have one. I have used it a few times. One time was for like 12 hours during a long hike. I like it. Plus it makes me look thinner.
