Interested in hearing about red dot's that have performed trouble free for you that's not the same price as the gun itself. Most guns I own are between $500 to $700 dollars and don't want to put the same amount in the red dot.

Just purchased the Vortex Venom as my first pistol red dot, first one didn't work out the box, there warranty team overnighted a new one to me next day with a free ball cap as well. would like to here about other people experiences, planning to outfit 2 more of pistols with red dot's, just don't want to make the wrong purchase 2 more times if others have had issues.

Desired price range is up to $300

People seem to like the Holosun 507c. Can find em around 300 on sale. If you’re into the whole chinesium thing.

Take a peek at the Sightron SRS-2 Reflex Sight Kit reduced from $359.99 to only $149.99
  • Available in 2 MOA and 6 MOA red dots
  • Easy access battery tray keeps your sight mounted - No more Re-zeroing
  • 10 position push-button intensity switch
  • Adjust windage and elevation in 1 MOA clicks
  • 300 hours of normal use battery life
  • Includes Picatinny Rail Mount

Tough to go wrong with Holosuns.

I also have the Riton MPRD2 ($99 in Hot Deals section for months) and it’s full size brother the PRD. If those two are under $140, I really like them.

I wouldn’t waste your time with Sig Romeo Zero, the MPRD blows it away.

My buddy has the Zero. It was shooting low and right. We cranked it 10 clicks left. Didn’t move at all. POS.

Thanks everyone for being responsive to the post. Would like to know more about problems you've encountered as well with lower cost red dots.

anything by pinty you can find on amazon. best if it has both red and green, along with a laser, and a couple rails on it.
i'm kidding

In my opinion there's 0 reason to buy anything other than a holosun when considering a budget red dot. I even prefer them to my type 2 rmr.

You can catch the Holosun 407c on sale in the $200 range. They're the cheapest "legit" dot if that makes sense. I have/had a bunch of pistol dots and I actually prefer the Holosuns over certain offerings (cough RMR cough).

If you want to go Holosun, check out MAS defense website. They’re based out of Charlotte and have had some screaming deals in the past on Holosun. I purchased my 507k and 510c through them significantly below msrp

Holosun 407CX2 Red is 175$ and out of stock. MAS Defense charges tax and shipping so that's ~198$ shipped. Coverttactical email for price is 200$ shipped. Those are close and significantly better than Eurooptic/Midway/Brownells etc. Is that the going sale rate for 407Cs now? I need to get a couple.
Palmetto State Armory just included them In today’s email special. $179.00. If you’re close you might be able to get one in store and save on shipping but otherwise it seems to be roughly $200 w/ tax and shipping.

Reactions: Me.
I can't seem to find any technical data on that version. and the 407 has several foootprint styles (407C, 407K). Do you know what footprint is the 407A3?

It’s an RMR footprint. I just installed one (407A3) on a PDP this weekend.

I would 100% get a Holosun with ACSS reticle. Will allow engagement at further distances without guesswork or 25/300 or 50/200yd zero

EDIT Helps to read. That’s for a carbine or AR pistol

For a handgun type pistol, same:

A Holosun with ACSS Vulcan reticle:

I like the Sig romeo 5 sight. It is a pretty good sight for price. Around 125.00
