Best Covers.

This guy drops a video every few years. He's always been anonymous too. I haven't searched lately if he's been named.
There was chatter that it was John Mayer, but I don't think it's him.

Tone is spot on the way Jimi played them and he DOESN'T miss a note. Incredible.

I’ve gotten some strange looks with this song cranked up on the Booze speakers while stopped and some stoplights on my Harley lol.

Disturbed . . . Sounds of Silence

Brilliant work and so much better capture of the message of the lyrics in the tone if the song.

The Simon and Garfunkel tune was upbeat and peppy while the message of the lyrics is dark and dystopian. I think the vocals in this version SO much h better suit the words.

I've seen Reverend Horton Heat cover this song at several venues, including playing live alongside Motorhead in Charlotte back in 2009. I think the best version of their cover was when I saw them in Houston and they had their roadie do the vocals, but don't have video of that one. Something about the way the song sounds played on a Gretsch with the standing base that just sounds killer.

I grew up mainly on a combination of the Clancy brothers and Dr Hook with plenty of beach music tossed in.

When my son was born and spent the first month of his life in the NICU, I would sing freaking at the freakers ball to him. I’ve known all the lyrics since I was about 6 years old.

Got some funny looks but I didn’t care.

From a great documentary about the legendary Funk Brothers called Standing in the Shadows of Motown.
