Best nightstand safe?

Best quick-access safe for a full-size 1911? Kid is about to be 2 and I can't leave it loaded in the drawer anymore.

• Right now on my radar is the Vaultek?
• My wife doesn't trust the RFID on the Hornady pop up safe.
• We sold our Barska because it was not quick action and way too large.

Any input is welcome!

Electronics can and will fail on these safes, some are fairly reliable
However they most reliable is Simplex (spelling?)
The Amsec is built like a beast and is my overall favorite fwiw

I have had a Hornady Rapid Safe (2700) for a while and like it a lot. Just wear the RFID bracelet all the time.

This reminds me of the lock on my rack in the Navy. RELIABLE, but not always quick.

The wife is afraid my son will get ahold of an RFID. He has to do everything I do.
This was the best looking safe in my view and she vetoed it faster than Trump would've vetoed a wall-less budget.

Yeah, mine is too young for that.... for now. Check out their biometric one I mentioned, it might be more reassuring for your wife.

Appreciate the followup. At that price point I think I'd just shell out the extra 100 for a Vaultek or gunbox and lock the RFIDs in the rifle case. Especially with the reviews Hornady's biometric security on Cabelas.

THIS THING IS BUILT LIKE A TANK. PLAYING WITH IT NOW, I CAN ACCESS QUICKER VIA COMBO (WHICH MANY OF YOU ALREADY TOLD ME) BUT I AM STILL HAPPY I HAVE IT AS AN OPTION FOR ONLY $30 OVER THEIR NON-BIOMETRIC VERSION. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT VAULTEK BIOMETRICS DO NOT HAVE THE ISSUES MANY OTHER SAFES HAVE, AS THEY USE A SOLID STATE DEVICE (SIMILAR TO YOUR PHONE) WHERE AS OTHER COMPANIES USE A "DRAG AND SCAN" METHOD RESULTING IN INACCURACIES.
