I need to soak a muzzle to get off some carbon. What's the best cost-effective way to soak the muzzle overnight? The FSB would make it difficult to set vertically in a cup or something, and I don't want to have to use an entire bottle of Hoppes #9 for this one job. Can I soak a paper towel in solvent, wrap it around the muzzle, and then wrap a plastic bag around that and use a rubber band?

I’d use a rubber glove instead of a plastic bag

Can you hang it and then bring the cup to it?

If it’s an AR have you tried non chlorinated brake cleaner? Haven’t seen anything it won’t take off. Spray it on and let sit a minute or so then scrub.

It's an AK. Is it safe to use around a muzzle crown? I'm cautious.

Planned on just using solvent and a nylon brush.

I’m sure the Rooskis were harder on them. I’d do it if we’re mine unless it was some rare ak. Then I’d probably do it anyway lol
