Just bought 2 Browning Hi Powers, detail stripped one last night. No real issues getting it apart and cleaned, but getting the sear back in, OMG that sucked!
Best I did was put the sear pin in from one side and a punch from the other. Using my left hand hold the gun and my left thumb to pull the hammer back a bit and using my right hand drop in the sear, press it against the sear spring and hammer until it gets into the right place. Then using telekinesis push in the punch to hold it. Honestly, no idea how I pushed the punch.
Probably easier if the pistol is held in a padded vise, I’ll try that next time.
Any other tips?
BTW, did take out the mag disconnect. The trigger takeup is smoother, but the release is still pretty heavy. It’s no 1911 trigger.
