Yeah I just saw this also. Someone may be losing their job lol.

Does anyone know what a Newton feels like? Do people in Europe (other than scientists) use the Newton to measure weight or pressure on a daily basis? If not, then don't use Newton as a unit of measure on your website.

I bet one will show up on Armslist real soon for $800..

You must eat 26 of these to have enough strength to pull the trigger.

The new shooters who hear Glock is the best, they invented the handgun don’t you know, from YouTube, trainers, TV, movies, etc will likely be all over them ... especially for less expensive training and practice.

Honestly it’s not a bad gun ... it’s just like the G43 and other Glock “innovations” about 2-3 years to late to the market. As to 10 round mags ... I could see it for state magazine restrictions like a Commiefornia but if the grip is G19 size they screwed the pooch not trying for a higher capacity.

I’d like one because I’ve never bought a 22LR upper for mine.

But I’m out until there’s a threaded barrel option. This one doesn’t even have a removable sleeve on the end like the M&P22 and 22C where you could install an adapter. Uggh.

From TFB, the unconfirmed MSRP of the G44 is $400 USD

Let’s take a look at the G44 weights and measures.

  • Caliber: .22 Long Rifle (.22lr)
  • Magazine Capacity: 10 Rounds
  • Barrel profile: Hexagonal
  • Barrel Length: 4.02 in / 102 mm
  • Length (Rate) Of Twist: 15.98 in / 406 mm
  • Weight (no mag): 12.63 oz / 358 gr
  • Weight (empty mag): 14.74 oz / 418 gr
  • Weight (loaded mag): 15.94 oz / 452 gr
  • Trigger Travel: .49 in / 12.5 mm
  • Trigger Weight: 5.8 lbs / 26 N
  • Length (overall): 7.28 in / 185 mm
  • Slide Length: 6.85 in / 174 mm
  • Width: 1.26 in / 32 mm
  • Slide Width: 1.0 in / 25.5 mm
  • Height (with Magazine): 5.04 in / 128 mm

I'm not, BUT....

If I was in the market for a semi auto polymer plinker in .22, and I had narrowed it down to the Keltec PMR 30 or the G44, I would choose the Glock just based on perceived reliability from the two companies...

But the fact that the G44 only has a 10rd magazine kills it... That's ridiculous... They should have made at least a 20rd mag...

Dumb .22lr mag question ... what manufacturers make a double stack .22lr mag? All my .22lr’s are singles ... and I seem to remember some company said the rimmed design of the .22lr messes with a double stacked mag’s feeding reliability. He went thru the follower spring rate had to be so low due to resistance while the slide was functioning along with recoil spring rate ... it was years back and I can’t remember it all ... but the S&W MP 22, Walther P22 Q and other more recent polys I swear run single stacks if my memory serves me correctly.

Don’t quote me on this but I believe Keltec has the only double stack .22 pistol on the market, granted it’s a .22 Magnum but I have seen a ton of videos where people said something to the effect that the rimmed .22 LR is extremely difficult to get to work in a double stack, the PMR pulled it off because the .22 Mag is so much longer and they were able to get a alternating double stack to functionz

I guess they went with plastic polymer.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
I think he said "steel polymer hybrid" slide... maybe it's metal, dipped in plastic...

Their new CP33 is 22lr double stack as well.

Yep, I’m guessing capacity is not much of a choice because of the single stack necessity ... maybe they could have squeezed a couple more in, a S&W MP 22 runs 12 rounds, but 20 or so rounds is more .22lr related than Glock’s choice.

I have a Walther P22. I took some ladies to the range last week, and i brought it along.

It has a single stack mag, but once the mag is full (10rds), the bullets were jammed in there and they kind of bunched up. They weren't exactly in a straight line. But, it didn't affect reliability. It's a fun little fun for plinking and especially good for kids and ladies who are new to shooting.

My wife loved it, but once she was comfortable with it she moved up to 9mm and never looked back.

BTW... I will make my prediction now..... This will be a MASSIVE hit. A huge bestseller.

When I got into shooting, I would have LOVED to have a 22LR in the same form as my "real" pistols.

I would not be shocked if this is their best-selling civilian-market gun within 18 months of hitting the street.

I'm sure one will end up in my safe eventually

Even the GSG MP5 clone has a single stack. Even the long mag only holds 24. They could have easily fit a double stack 22 in there.

I guess 22lr doesn’t double stack very reliably.

And nearly all 22lr’s are range toys, and capacity is not all that important.

It's important when you are at the range and you have to stop to reload a mag every 3 seconds... Haha
