I believe the Fostech Echo is currently one of the better ones and they just released their Gen II model which does NOT require a modified BCG.
Is would like to have one just becasue I can but is there any real world advantage over a fast trigger like the Geissele 3 gun triggers. Just trying to justify the extra $100 for the Franklin Binary.
Unless you want to dump mags a little faster (not twice as fast as a Geissele Super 3Gun or similar though), or you are in a competition where you shoot mostly double taps, I can't think of one.
It is definitely the sort of thing that either:
A) you pull out to show your friends occasionally or
B) you train with a lot so that you can use it without consciously thinking about it
I suspect that used casually a binary trigger is one of the most dangerous things you can do. It needs different trigger manipulation, safety manipulation, and trigger discipline habits to be safe (or to be used for mag dumps only).
I think it would be a sort of cool toy, and I considered getting one when our rimfire matches used to have lots of double taps, but the cost and retraining I realized I would need to do convinced me otherwise.
I didn't know this existed before you posted, now I have to get one... I hate you
may it burn with the intensity of 1000 Sun's
ATF recently reversed that orderIsn't shouldering a brace on a pistol a felony? I certainly wouldn't do it on a YouTube video. Maybe he has SBR'ed that one.
ATF recently reversed that order
http://www.guns.com/2017/04/25/atf-reverses-decision-on-ar-arm-brace/At first they said the braces were ok.
Then they said they weren't.
Then they said they were but you couldn't shoulder them (because that would be redesigning the weapon - a felony!)
Did they change their story again?

from 4/25/17
But “incidental, sporadic, or situational” use of a firearm equipped with an arm brace “in its original approved configuration” at or near the shoulder would not constitute a redesign nor make it an NFA item, ATF says.
Excellent. I only use my AR pistol sporadically so I am covered. [emoji3]
Seriously, I still wouldn't post video of it.

Exactly!
And I only use the brace "situationally" when I want to fire it as a rifle-ish weapon.
