Agreed. When I was doing this it worked great.P90x has been good for a long time for us
Don't knock yoga as a good body weight exercise either.
I am looking for a total body workout plan that is not relying on machines, gyms, etc.
What plans do you like?
Can I get in on that?@JBoyette shoot me your email address. I have a couple body weight plans that were put together by tactical mountain institute. Happy to send them to you. They are progressive so it's not like you have to do a thousand push-ups or burpees today. Or any day for that matter.
Pilates is good, too. Yoga to pop and rock instead of Buddha tones. Abs with the extreme poses.I asked my physical therapist what workout types were best to maintain flexibility and core strength for someone with bad knees and neck (arthritis and multiple surgeries). He highly recommended yoga.
I thought he was joking, until I started classes. Holy cow, that stuff ain’t no joke! I kept it up until the local gym that offered yoga classes closed because of COVID. The gym has reopened but they aren’t offering the yoga classes now. I need to find another local class.

Anyone have a good app for suggesting workouts? I do a combination of bodyweight and free weights. Some days I can get stale with workout ideas.
I tried one today that I only made it 45 seconds into setting up the app and bailed/deleted. I just want ideas. I don’t need plans and motivation and crap.
I’ve got access to a pretty well stocked gym. Dumbbells, kettlebells, medicine balls, plates, whatever I need.Do you have a sandbag? If so Brute Force has a WOD they email every night. Some of the workouts I do in entirety, some I just pick and choose.

Who is this WOD you speak of?
I knew more than a small handful of guys in the Army who got great results from that one.P90x has been good for a long time for us

I like Mountain Tactical Institute (used to be Military Athlete). I’ll concede that Rob’s “limited equipment” plans aren’t his specialty (he mostly programs for a fully equipped CrossFit gym) but he does have them. If the quality is anything like his gym plans they’re awesome, scalable, and address more than just the strength components.
To add to @Chuckman, if you can add sandbags in there, it opens up a lot of possibilities.
