I got the notification from Ring earlier.

The Fuquay-Varina Police Department is currently on scene within the 3200 block of Lake Barkley Way investigating a residential breaking and entering and shooting. There is no threat to the public at this time. It was reported that a male subject had forcibly made entry into a residence and an occupant inside the residence shot the subject that had forcibly entered the residence. The male subject that was shot has been transported to an area medical facility and is in critical condition at last report. The male subject was reportedly known to the occupants of the residence and there was an alleged past history of domestic related issues involving an occupant inside the residence. This is an active and ongoing investigation. If anyone has information to assist with this case, contact the Fuquay-Varina Police Department at 919-552-3191 or email [email protected].

The comment on Ring is what really had me shaking my head.

We had an email blast in my little neighborhood about a coyote in the neighborhood a couple of weeks ago.
One neighbor said, “Call wildlife. They’ll set a trap."
Another neighbor, “I hope it doesn’t get hurt"
Me, "They’ve invaded all 100 counties, there's no bag limit."
Lefty neighbor down the street, “Here's a link to an article on co-existing with coyotes. No need to harm or move them."

Same as home invaders I guess.

If someone forcibly enters a home and get shot and die they will not forcibly enter another home. However if they do not die and chose the forcibly enter another home, chances are they will do their homework and go for the leftist home next time.

Next Door app is exactly the same. "OMG, did you hear shooting last night? It was automatic gun fire", "what was that explosion?"

Inevitably we get the standard "Merica!" reply and they come unhinged, it's great entertainment.

As to the breaking and entering, make bad choices and receive bad results.

Coexisting with coyotes is like coexisting with liberials, they get what they want, and you give up/lose anything they don't like.
But both are vermin, so same/same.

Guess your too red blooded and your knuckles scrape as you walk. Just think if they met you in person as your prepping to coyote hunt.

Said coyote was in my yard yesterday. Even had a backstop for a shot. Very tempting……..

He seems to like your culdesac. All the pics I keep seeing of him are from there.
Maybe we’ve got a neighbor feeding him, considering the number of misguided residents in here.

Yup. He’s back this morning. Must resist…..

I’ve got a Sears .22 pump air rifle you can borrow. Sounds like a .22 short.

I’ll be out strolling the baby this morning. Wonder if I can make the shot with a G43.

You are familiar with the family I live beside. NOTHING goes unnoticed.
I was trying to decide if I could do the deal with a suppressed 77 grain. Maybe as quiet as my pellet gun???
If you get the shot, Take it!! You and the baby felt threatened!!!! (That 43 is magic….)

Remind me to tell of a Lefty quote about coyotes in front of Highland County Commissioner meeting in 1994...... it's a classic and may even be on the record.

I've told a lot of people that human nature is a great thing.

So long as nobody actually sees a gun in play, you can take one shot and nobody will say anything or call anybody. It's just a loud noise that at most makes people say "what was that?"

Trap, skin, flesh, dry

On to the next one.

Looks like same one. He/It is a mangey critter. I think it’s den is around the retention pond across the street from me.
That’s the first pic that your neighbor sent out in that email blast a few weeks ago

It might be a Samson Fox. My son has seen one a couple times near Fuquay.

Definitely mange. Probably not coyote. If the pics are the same critter, and not sure about that either, it's recovered some undercoat. I'd call the one by the tree a red fox for sure. Dark feet are a good tell. And size. it looks grown but not bulky. That would be one skinny coyote for either pic.

Oh, and NCWRC will do nothing about them unless they actually cause a problem. Then they will likely do nothing as well. They are not in the trap and relocate for suburbanites business. You will have to pay someone for that.

I had one stalking my puppy in her pen several years ago. I had just been sighting in a rifle and used it quite effectively to keep my little Lucy out of danger. I may be deer/turkey/squirrel hunting until I see a coyote. I am then coyote hunting.
