California governor signs law raising taxes on guns and ammunition to pay for school safety

Interesting premise. Something to look into when I'm bored. I've never heard of this as being possible.

I'll clarify, like @rufrdr more clearly stated, they know they don't have to win in court to get what they want - bury you or your company with legal fees.

And the irony is that your own tax dollars pay them to do it. 🤬

I can’t find exactly the legal wording but I swear that when Commiefornia first passed the ammo tax and FFL thing they made it illegal for Commiefornia residents to cost into neighboring states, buy ammo and bring it back into the state (I guess there might be a tax stamp like use to be in cigarettes) but “it aint illegal unless you get caught” thinking (aka bootlegging) would be hard to enforce.

Correct on the prohibition of importing ammunition from neighboring states. The DOJ has been seen staking out major gun shows in NV and AZ and nabbing CA residents bringing contraband into the state.

Like any of that money will go towards school safety.
It's like the education lotteries. The money that they bring in does go to education, they just stop allocating as much from the general fund to education.

Of course they'll just make up some lie about committing a traffic violation as the basis. Still, that doesn't give them grounds to try to search. They're bound to the matter of the traffic violation. This is well established.

The other part is that anybody who would try to enforce such nonsense is the enemy and is as guilty as the guards at the concentration camps.

The government is having a hard time restricting gun rights, but they can make it expensive to guns and ammo. I have been saying for the last 20 years, they are going to make ammo hard to get.

I sense more people becoming interested in reloading. I just started myself.
