My apologies if this has already been posted. Now, in California, knowingly giving someone HIV is a misdemeanor. So basically the same as if you slapped them in the face. Just how stupid can California get?

"Starting January 1, it will no longer be a felony in California to knowingly expose a sexual partner to HIV with the intent of transmitting the virus. Gov. Jerry Brown signed legislation Friday that lowers the offense to a misdemeanor."

What's the new lower penalty for murdering someone who gives you HIV in a moment of temporary insanity?
