Can't find the USPS thread, so...

Has anyone experience lost mail? Not package but mail. USPS Informed Delivery notified me that my mail containing my PPPs from the Sheriff's office was to be delivered yesterday. But nothing was in my mailbox. Not even the other promotional mail that they said would also arrive. Fast forward to today, all the mail they said that were coming today arrived, but none from yesterday. I checked the boxes on their website indicating I didn't receive Wednesday's mail. Is there anything else I should do? Or just be patient, and hope that it will eventually arrive...

I found this address so I can send them hate mail.

Pretty sure "Covid" is USPS code speak for "all our employees are low IQ government workers who enhance their job performance by smoking copious quantities of marijuana to the point they couldn't find their own ass with both hands and a map."

That informed delivery is a cesspool of noninformation at best. Its NEVER correct here

I've had mail informed say something was delivered and it would show up days later. It's a waste of time if you believe what's on there even when checking the box.

2 day shipping for my new Beretta, New Bern to Durham should be easy. Nope. Whole week. Seems like that Raleigh office likes to wantonly send things to Greensboro.

I've had mail informed say something was delivered and it would show up days later. It's a waste of time if you believe what's on there even when checking the box.

That actually makes me feel better. Arriving late is better than getting lost....

The USPS would be better off updating shipping status to : "We have no idea where your package is, or when we'll throw it out of the truck in the approximate vicinity of your house"

Ya know, something believable. ( Apologies to the 30% of USPS workforce that actually is trying while others are as inert as the rest of the packages that surround them)

I'm still waiting on a handgun (2nd Gen Colt SAA!!!) that shipped from Ohio 12/2. Went AWOL on 12/6.

Just had my first customer complaint for a couple mags that haven't arrived for him after 15 days. USPS told him to have me submit a claim, which I did. I also sent him two more mags via UPS. Cost $6 more than mailing them and is well worth it. He will get them in around three days. Told him if the first two mags arrive to contact me and we'll figure out what to do then.

I also ponied up for overnight UPS shipping today for two handguns I would otherwise have mailed. Figured it was worth not having the hassle of lost or delayed guns to pay the extra. Told my customers it was my Christmas present to them. Had to mail a third. It is going to Alaska and overnight shipping to there would have eaten up all my profit and then some.

Hopefully my 2nd Gen SAA shows up. It is bad enough to lose a gun. It is worse to lose a collectible. This was a pre-1960 2nd Gen and they are few and far between.

If it’s been missing for that long, contact USPS. If that doesn’t work, contact the ATF. They’ll bring the hammer down quickly on that missing gun, they don’t take that stuff lightly

I’ve seen story after story of firearms being lost in transit with USPS/FedEx saying we’re looking for it but can’t do anything besides that. Usually within days of contacting the ATF, the firearm “magically” appears.

I’d give them a call

I saw the news bit on how many packages are just piling up and how they're spending more and more time just shoving them into warehouse space or parking trucks. At what point do they just STOP accepting packages and deal with what they have? I know, I know, think of the children/poor/that's racist, but at some point they'll be spending 100% of their time just stashing crap and then no one ever gets anything.

When you're in a hole, stop digging, then figure out how to get out. They'll just keep digging. I'm sure it's some 'law' they have to obey or some crap. Always some excuse to do the wrong thing in .gov.

I'm a dealer. Shipper is a dealer. ATF will pretty much talk to the shipper only in a case like this. Until the shipper has a fire lit under them, it is a waiting game.

It is a company I have done lots of business with, so I've cut them some slack. I'll reach the end of my patience at some point, though.

I mailed a package at Gibsonville post office on 12-14-20, it was supposed to be delivered by 12-18-20, there has been no activity on tracking number. I went to PO today had them to check on it. Overworked underpaid union employee said it was in Greensboro waiting on transit. I asked her what does that mean, she responded well we are 2 weeks behind! 😡 I should have went with my gut and paid for actual value insurance.

I ordered a couple of boxes of Cavity Back Bullets on Sunday. The USPS label was created on Sunday the 20th. USPS picked it up on Tuesday the 22nd and they were delivered this afternoon. 2 days from Bozeman, MT to Concord, NC.

I think I might need to go buy a lottery ticket.

My wife ordered a shirt for my son on Dec. 8th and had it sent to her mom's house in Winston Salem. It made it to Greensboro today! It might get delivered next year.

I guess they were all over worked for the mail in ballots. They are just making up for the all the extra work they did.

Another factor that comes into play is that more and more retailers in order to offer free shipping are shipping them from the warehouse to a main postal location for the area where the large container is then opened and separated into individual shipments. I think this is the cause for the item arriving in a place like Charlotte and then sitting for 3 days. The individual tracking numbers are tied to a container number so it is scanned in but not in the system.

Also it seems certain hubs are much worse than others.

I’d say mine is almost 100% accurate. Maybe one or two days the entire year have an issue. (Speaking of regular mail only, not the packages listed at the bottom)

Still waiting for a Missouri Bullets Priority Mail package that was shipped 12/14. Finally broke down yesterday and asked for the tracking number, My guess is it's in Greensboro.

After 22 days, my package shows up in Charlotte, then goes to Raleigh. It's getting so close, and then....

they freakin' send it to GREENSBORO! Damn you people, why must it go there to then come back to Raleigh to get delivered?

They must really just be being stupid on purpose now.

So the stamps I ordered from USPS arrived one month after they shipped. Hooray. /sarc

The small priority mail box I shipped early December sat at that post office for two weeks and finally arrived three hours away more than two weeks after shipping.

Compared to: I ordered a $6 drill bit on Amazon prime 48 hours ago and I have it in hand right now.

I really am tired of the USPS BS. I bought a MO on Monday, the 21st and mailed it PRIORITY that morning at 9:10 am going to Denver. As we speak, it is sitting at a Denver hub 10 DAYS LATER!!!WHY?!?!?!?! I paid for 3 day delivery. I think it's time for me to email/call and become a real Richard to someone at the PO.

It may never actually make it to my house for who knows how many other reasons, but I might’ve just won a trophy for the shortest stay in Greensboro...

...and yes, it might end up going back there 3-4 times before I see it. 😎

I defend USPS a lot, have had a lot of great experiences with them
Had two bad experiences ever with them. One was Saturday.
Both dealt with records...and rain.

Instead of putting the package at the door, which would be be 'protected' under the awning a bit, they simply placed it at the edge of the steps and that was it. It was in the rain for gosh knows how long. It's not too terribly messed up, but still pisses me off.

Take the two extra steps bud

Yesterday I paid my Cabela's monthly credit card at the store, which you can do. The statement arrived 2 weeks later than usual on Saturday, and I had 10 days before the late charge.

My missing gun, that was “arriving late” for a month, up and arrived yesterday. Yippee!

Just got something sent from my SIL in Co. sent USPS Priority 12/04/20.

The regular daily mail is a CF in my neighborhood. As soon as we get a mail carrier that seems to have their feces intact, they eventually put a different one on the route and postal chaos ensues.

prescription medicine, shipped 21 dec

tracked to Raleigh early Jan, then to GSO where it hung for few days.

got a 'spam' call from script company so i asked them about where was my shipment..... :)

contact said "delivered today" left at/near mailbox 341pm... which i knew was not true.
told them if that was the case, i would have medicine in hand...
"can you check mailbox while we are on the line?"
NO... mailbox is about 1000 ft from house.... but box has been checked multiple times since 341pm
made a deal to wait a day...
next morning at 0800 mailbox was empty.

later that morning got call that script was pulled from mailbox... that was Jan6.

also. just had FeEX :( to leave a sleeve of 500 9mm ammo in mailbox instead of leaving at house...
it barely FIT the mailbox... that's just lazy FedEX!!

ok, off my chest now...carry on.

How can fedex access your mailbox? That is basically USPS property.

As the saga continues.....
7 days in Greensboro....
14 days in Philly.....
8 days (so far) in NJ.....
I sent a scathing letter to the USPS main office about this service yesterday and asked for a refund of my purchase.
I did not swear but I was surely heated and direct.
I bet my package will never get delivered now.
1 month and 1 day and it is still "In Transit to the Next Destination."
They suck. If anyone here works for the USPS, I am sorry for your situation.
Your employer has turned in to a shambles from a once respected service of the government.

I won a few items at auction over the holidays and unfortunately they shipped via USPS Priority Mail. The ship date was around 12/31 with an expected delivery date of 1/5. The last updates I get with the tracking numbers are in transit, arriving late on 1/4. Anybody else seeing ridiculous shipping times from USPS and lack of updates? Just trying to find out if they are lost or if they are being carried via horseback and will get here eventually.
