Capital City Gun show this weekend - Raleigh, NC

I'll try to go early Saturday, may get a few clips for my Garand.

Ah the flea market /gun show. I wish it was the dixie show they are always better, less crap that belongs else where. Still might go though.

I will probably be there early Saturday morning. I hardly ever miss a show in Raleigh.

This year-end show is not in the Graham building, it is in the Expo center. Smaller venue. In some ways, I like this show better, as I can walk the whole floor in less time. Blue Collar will not be at this one but Cover Six will be, for anyone needing reloading supplies (one of the main reasons I go).

I may go as this is the first show since I moved here a couple weeks ago.I stopped going to the shows in NH years ago as the prices are ridiculous.

Just so you know, of the two regular Raleigh shows this one is the smaller one. The Dixie show fills the building, this one (C&E) will only occupy 2/3 to 3/4 of it. Otherwise I can't really tell them apart, in terms of what is being sold.

Thanks for the info.I go to the Raleigh Flea market often in the years I've been visiting so I'll be there anyway.Might as well pop in and check it out.

As was mentioned earlier, the December show is usually in the smaller hall, so it actually fills that building. I like it a lot better in the smaller hall, though in the larger one loading and unloading is easier.

I hope we get the chance to get up there. Never been to the C&E.
Im tellin' the wife it would be a good opportunity for her to see what all is available.
I was hopin' she would've made a decision by now so I could have it under the tree for her but no luck so far.
And I can't/shouldn't rush it i guess.

I have had a terrible cold this week. Feeling better now. Maybe I'll be up and running, to make it Sunday. If so, I'll be wearing my CFF cap.

The wife asked if she could go... said she was in the market for some candles, beef jerky, jewelry and rubber band guns.

Her mockery game is improving....

I went today. I walked the whole floor in less than 2 hours, though I wasn’t stopping to look at a whole lot. There were decent (not great) prices on ammo to be had. I picked up a brick of Aguila 22 and a 100 round box of Mini-mags. I found a real unicorn - Aguila 12ga buckshot mini-shells. I saw several Sub 2Ks for $399. Backwoods Bang Shop had people lined up filling out 4473s which is no surprise, they had good prices and selection.

I was really looking for a 44mag Henry at the show but the only one I found was a 16” barrel, I want a 20. Good price, though, at $600. I almost bought it anyway.

I was disappointed in the number of vacant tables. The $10 ticket fee is in my opinion too much when the show is not sold out. I talked to a few vendors who expanded their table space because their neighbors were no shows. So that means there were actually even more vacant tables. Rant over.

On a positive, I saw some of whom my wife refers to as my gun buddies. John, Tim, Joe and Cubrock. Good guys in or out of the confines of a show.

At Jerek's I waited in line behind 5 people. Glad he's making the money. And he has a cute new baby…. growing up at the Gun Show. She will be taking up the family business.

You obviously didn't attend the last Dixie show. It was really overloaded with "crap". I was surprised and disappointed in the level of "crap" at that particular event. I mean really over the top level of "crap". Especially for a Dixie show.

I can live with the beef jerky, leather wallets and 'support our group' booths, but I guess they needed to sell space to pay the rent given some of the non-relevant booths I saw last show.

First Dixie show I went to that I wasn't at for more than 2 hours. I was in and out having gone by every table in a touch more than an hour. Thank God that Blue Collar shows up so I can restock otherwise it would have been a waste of time.
