Hey guys. I am slowly drifting into carrying Sigs more than Glocks. When I had been running Glock, my go to red dot was the RMR, followed by a holosun (not my favorite). There's something about an RMR that makes you feel confident that sum'bitch ain't breaking. I would be confident using the RMR as a blunt force weapon if I run out of ammo.
Now that I'm running Sig Sauer it seems that the optic cuts are geared towards proprietary and Delta Point optics... My one gripe about Sigs being that since they make everything you can imagine for firearms, they always want to design things around their own products as opposed to what the actual best option would be.
My question to y'all would be, is the new Romeo Zero "elite" or "pro" a good carry optic option, or is it worthwhile to accept the EVEN HIGHER height over bore of an adapter plate and running an RMRc? Sig Romeo 5 is a dot that is well known for its reliability but I have heard not so great things about the Zero, but perhaps with the new Elite and Pro models coming out we can expect a bit more? Specifically for P320 having such an inherently tall height over bore, I would prefer to direct mount and not add yet another 8th inch to the firearm- though I'm sure its not going to matter too much end game.
I do like the lightweight and simple design of the Romeo Zero, being carbon infused polymer and not covered in buttons it seems like a nice basic option for a subcompact. When I ran an RMR I was constantly racking the slide with my dot and coincidentally adjusting my brightness down- then I would bring my pistol up and where the hell is my dot??? Looks like the Romeo Zero is designed as such that you're not gonna accidentally manhandle the buttons.
Anyway, opinions are always appreciated. Cheers
