Hey guys. I am slowly drifting into carrying Sigs more than Glocks. When I had been running Glock, my go to red dot was the RMR, followed by a holosun (not my favorite). There's something about an RMR that makes you feel confident that sum'bitch ain't breaking. I would be confident using the RMR as a blunt force weapon if I run out of ammo.

Now that I'm running Sig Sauer it seems that the optic cuts are geared towards proprietary and Delta Point optics... My one gripe about Sigs being that since they make everything you can imagine for firearms, they always want to design things around their own products as opposed to what the actual best option would be.

My question to y'all would be, is the new Romeo Zero "elite" or "pro" a good carry optic option, or is it worthwhile to accept the EVEN HIGHER height over bore of an adapter plate and running an RMRc? Sig Romeo 5 is a dot that is well known for its reliability but I have heard not so great things about the Zero, but perhaps with the new Elite and Pro models coming out we can expect a bit more? Specifically for P320 having such an inherently tall height over bore, I would prefer to direct mount and not add yet another 8th inch to the firearm- though I'm sure its not going to matter too much end game.

I do like the lightweight and simple design of the Romeo Zero, being carbon infused polymer and not covered in buttons it seems like a nice basic option for a subcompact. When I ran an RMR I was constantly racking the slide with my dot and coincidentally adjusting my brightness down- then I would bring my pistol up and where the hell is my dot??? Looks like the Romeo Zero is designed as such that you're not gonna accidentally manhandle the buttons.

Anyway, opinions are always appreciated. Cheers

My P226 Mk25 wears a Sig Romeo 1.

I figure it ought to wear its brand of optic best.

But that's just my .02........

I put a Holosun 509Tx2 on my P320 Compact using a Springer Precision plate and Sig suppressor height sights. No issues with that combo.

I've run quite a few combos on my p320 (which is my carry pistol). I shoot a lot (twice a week on average 150-300 rnd per trip) and I've come to prefer the Romeo 1 Pro. Initially I bought it used from a buddy how had made the move to a Holosun 507. I was waiting on a adapter plate to come in (back ordered), for my 507, and put the Romeo 1 Pro on while I waited.

Once the plate came in I tried the 507, RMR, 509T (which I also recommend), and Delta Point Pro.

The Delta Point Pro is a really tall optic and I just don't like it. Besides it being tall, I can't put a finger on what it is I dislike so much, but I trained with it for about 5 weeks, and couldn't wait to take it off... now it lives in my safe. I guess I'll punt it at some point...

The RMR is just dated. The window is too small and for whatever reason it's gone from being the dot I prefer, to one I wont buy another one of. Trijicon needs to update it to keep up with the evolution of RDS. They are really durable tho, you can't take that away from them.

The 507 (any version) are a solid choice. The window could be a little larger, but it's big enough and easy to get a sight picture. I'm a big fan of the multi reticle option depending on the application (pistol or rifle). I've beat my up pretty good, and it's never given me any issues.

509T is also a favorite. I'm really digging the closed optic RDS for carry pistols so you don't have any crap in your optic. I've never had anything get into my optic which would keep me from hitting my target, but it could happen. I'd really just like to have an optic which I don't have to perform lint duty to... These are great, but the window is smallish... also get the Gen2 version, they have less parallax.

The Romeo 1Pro I bought as a throw away optic while I waited on my plate to arrive. however, I found that I really like this optic. It has a protective shroud, really big window, and nice round, crisp dot. Mine is the 3 MOA version, but I will be purchasing a 6 MOA version in the future. I also have a p320max and the6 MOA dot on that optic is fantastic.

Hope that helps. If you have any other questions, hit me up.
