Benn reloading quite along time and never encountered this issue . I was prepping some once fired 6.5 Creedmore and i found a few that was under the trim to specs. Even after full length sizing. Has anybody experienced this and what do you do? Like I said i reload for a bunch of rifle cartridges and never saw this before. Also they were all shot through the same Ruger American Predator and the loads were middle of the hornady charts. Thanks any input would be appreciated

They don’t headspace on the case mouth, so as long as the head-shoulder dimension is correct, they will work. The shorter neck may affect neck tension slightly, and will also affect crimp, if you do that.

I would sort the short ones out together and still use them. If you are after extreme accuracy, then use them for fouling shots.

Repeated firings will cause them to stretch in length, as does resizing, eventually requiring trimming.

My concern is...
...i found a few that was under the trim to specs. Even after full length sizing.
Does this mean you found a bunch that were at or over the Trim To specs? Still not too much of a concern. What would be alarming is if you found any over SAAMI maximum case length and did not trim them.

Is this brass new to you, so you don’t know how it came to be short, or is it your brass that was once longer and after firing and f/l sizing seems to have gotten shorter?

^^^ this. Sort... short ones will effect tension, crimp if there will be any with a shortened case.
Full length sizing the cases will grow in length and depending on the load.Just got to ask are these cases Hornady by chance?

They were hornady 140 eld factory, reloaded once, shot and then cleaned . I dont usually use used brass unless i know who shot them.
so these have not been trimmed, from the first rekoad? Maybe reading it wrong *sometimes the ole brain works slow), is this 2x brass? Or reloaded once then given to you ?Just curious, its really irrelevant short brass is short brass when you think of it.
Me I personally avoid Hornady brass. It's soft, flows to much, gives indication of high pressure signs, bolt marks, extractor marks when fired from the same gun as i shot other ammo in. Hornady's quality control is not the greatest. Even had some 1x fired brass from a friend that showed the same effects. Its most more than likely another Hornady "thing" sort as has been mentioned and load, the overall length should still be the same, it's just the bullet will not be seated as deep and if you apply any crimp, it will either be non existent, or slight. Wouldn't use them in with shooting the other rounds, use them for something other what you plan on, practice, etc. Keep them separate. With Hornady brass it will grow probably more so than other brass.
This is from my experience, YMMV..
