I've not searched on the .net on this. (yet)

How would one "rust" steel that is galvanized? Basically I want to dull the silver to look like rust (aged).

It’ll rust if you scratch it.

Or you could hit it with some brown spray paint. Would look like rust from a distance.

"Dull" it with muriatic acid, it'll take the shine away. If you want it to rust...then take an orbital sander to spots and sand the galvanized away. THEN wipe it down with muriatic acid and let it dry. Let moisture get to it and it'll rust within days.

Galvanized is just coated with zinc. Remove the coating. Why do you want it to rust?

Why do you want to start with galvanized steel?

Had no choice. The base, donor tank, is galvanized.
Can you skin it with a piece of CS?
Just get the thinest gauge you can for a skin.
Take the mill finish off and it'll rust up very well for you.

If you grind or sand the galvanized coating off wear the proper respirator and other ppe.....you don't want zink poisoning. Once it's removed acid as stated or I like to use vinegar and salt water.
Agree. Not sure you want that around her food garden either
