Cheerwine Beer

Back about the time Covid hit, they planned the Cheerwine festival, my buddy at Faiting Goat Brewery made a stout with Cheerwine. It was some kind of good!!

Well they don’t have it the Food Lion in Siler City yet. If I get close to another Food Lion tomorrow I’ll stop in and check.

FYI it just launched for sale Monday (2/13) so most stores won't have it until today (2/14) or tomorrow (2/15) depending on delivery schedule.

They had free samples at the grocery store. I was massively disappointed.

I haven't tried it yet but from experience most beers that you would think taste like something do not at all (there are a very few exceptions). I'll be trying it tomorrow either way.

Should hit stores Thursday from what I was told. Harris Teeter and Lowe’s Food will be getting it. I do want to try it. I mostly drink craft beers.

Depending on the distributor in your area and delivery schedule for what day it hits stores. Food Lion wanted to be 1st to market as they sell more Cheerwine than other chains, Teeter and Lowes should be next week.

I'm not sure I've ever had Cheerwine as a stand alone beverage. It was usually accompanied by a spicy chicken sandwich and fries.

Damn you Wendy's for dropping Cheerwine from your menu.

Just hit up my Food Lion. Sold out as of yesterday. Girl at the counter said it flew off the shelves. Last one sold yesterday after someone called the store and asked them to hold it for them.

More product is on the way to distributors, definitely sold fast. Plenty of stores on the coast still have it in stock though.

If anyone around Greenville, NC finds it let me know. I just hit up 3 food lions and 2 walmarts. Cheerwine is my favorite soda.

Cornelius,NC Food Lion had tons in stock as of 6PM. Got one and they had the Cabarrus Brewery Sour Drop (Cherry Lemon Sundrop) right next too it. All they were missing was the Bojangles Hard Tea.

Anyone actually enjoyed one yet? How was it?

If you like cheerwine you will like it.

I'm hit or miss on the soda. I like a cheerwine float but only like the soda by itself once in a while, so not a big fan of the beer. Sure reminds me of cheerwine though. Maybe I'll try it with a scoop of ice cream 🤔

I like the drink, guess I'll try the beer. Thanks

Picked some up. Food Kitty had it for 10 bucks a 4 pack.

The Cheerwine flavor is definitely there. It's a wheat beer, but it is pretty mild, like a less garbage Blue Moon on the backside. Sweet Cheerwine up front, little bit of beer tang on the back end. If you like Cheerwine you'll like it. If you like Cheerwine and wheat beer, you'll love it.

It's definitely good, but not something you're going to be putting down more than a couple of in a session. A good beer for hot dogs and burgers and such.

I enjoyed it as well. The Cheerwine taste is definately there. As others said, nomore than two in a session. Also, in my opinion this would be a great summer time beer on a hot day. If you like Sour beers, the Cabarrus Brewery Sour Drop (Cherry Lemon Sundrop) was good and I like it better than the Cheerwine beer. It has a good lemon sour taste to it with a hint of cherry.

Just got a report from my SIL. He says it's bad.

I asked if he was not a fan of Cheerwine or does it not taste anything like Cheerwine.

He said he loves Cheerwine, but it just tastes like flat beer with some Cheerwine in it.

Maybe he'll save me one since I also love it and would be interested in trying it out.

I kinda really like it, planned to stop at FL and see if I could get some more. Cheerwine flavor is def there but subtle, not too sweet. Also seemed stronger than ABV would suggest but either way I like it.

I tried a shot glass full at The Mod, in Pittsboro, on Wednesday evening. They have it on tap there and will give free tastes of the draft beers while you decide what you want to drink.

I didn't like it. I didn't hate it.

I sipped it and it tasted like beer, but the after taste tasted like cheer wine soda.

The bar tender asked me what I thought, after she told me that she loved it.

I said, "If I was drunk, at home, and it was the only beer in the fridge I'd drink it..."

I bought it, took a sip and spit it out. Not my flavor at all, and I really like Cheerwine. @kcult I have 3 left you are welcome too if the express can get them there

Finally got some myself. Best way I can describe it is if you took Cheerwine and mixed it with beer.

In all seriousness: it's got a powerful up front taste of Cheerwine, but it smooths out to be ale-ish. Not bad at all.

This was my experience as well. And Cheerwine is my #2 soft drink.

Delicious beer. Better in the can than from the tap. Not everyones cup of beer tea for sure

So I gave it the college try for a couple of boxes as Cheerwine is my favorite soda. I'd say it was close but not there. I could smell the Cheerwine on the initial opening that made me excited but the taste of Cheerwine was very subtle and not as pronounced as I would have liked it to be. The final taste was wheat beerish and you just have to like that taste. The warmer the temperature, borderline hot off the shelf, the more Cheerwine taste but it was less enjoyable vs a cooler beer. I think with a bit more syrup they may have something or as others said turn towards a hard cider type drink to create an alcoholic Cheerwine.

Summary... I had high hopes, slightly disappointed, 7/10, it is pricy at $10 for 4 when the ABV is only 5%. Not something I'd regularly buy but maybe once in a while for something different.

Yeah, not a fan. Tried to like it but it's just not right. The stout Fainting Goat did with Cheerwine a few years ago was much. much better

I'm trying it now for the first time. I find the aroma somewhat medicinal. It reminds me of something from my childhood, maybe a cough syrup?
