..Has anybody else tried one of these cheesy little things and been surprised? I think this one is an "Ohuhu".
Don't get me wrong, I like good glass and quality sighting devices.
But I was lookin for somethin real "basic" for a lil dinky AR I drag around the club on a 4 wheeler in the off season. It takes a pretty good beating.
So I broke down and bought one a coupla years ago just cause I kept seeing them gettin reasonable reviews. Assured, most are prolly from jokers that never really take'em afield.
But I figgered for the "cost of admission" if nothin else I'd satisfy my curiosity.
Walp, skip ahead to the present and that lil bugger does the damn job! And still running the original battery. Mind, I don't turn it on that often.
But crap, every time I try it just to see if it's still "on", some poor ol white quartz rock at the club gets shattered. Now gettin it sighted in was kindofa back-n-forth thing.
I hadta schneek up on it. Twist the lil tiny screws in no particular direction and whack it a coupla times to settle. But once there, it holds.. The reticle is tilted at a "jaunty angle". šŸ¤”
With the first one I ordered the mounting clamp bolt was cross threaded at the mfg and stripped on trying to get it out. I emailed the seller and they very quickly sent another that was fine and told me to keep the first. Aaaaight. I drilled out the threads of the stripped one and just thru bolted it. No problemo. So now I'm @ $10 per.
Hmmmm. I dunno. But for a measley $20 I'm gonna hasta say I'm fairly impressed and feel like I got my money's worth.
Course, since I've opened my yap the next time I try it it'll be off in left field sommers.:rolleyes:šŸ˜
Anybody else fooled around with these?

Not the $10 ones, but I've bought 3 in the $30-45 range. No problems as of yet. I've had them for 1-4 years (bought at different times). They are on shottys, so they do take a beating.

Cheapest I've gone is a Primary Arms. I'd personally avoid such a purchase, not because I'm a snob (I am) but simply because of the potential hassle. I know if I spend $60 on r/GAFS for a PA dot that PA will help me out if there are problems. If I spend $20 on a dot that works for a month or two and then fails, I'm prob out the $20. - If I want to sell it, I get $10 for it, if I sell the PA, I prob get my full value back.

I've realized I'm better off having less guns and more cash on hand to make them effective with quality components, than a bunch of guns and little to no money to improve their lethality.
