Did a little math from this site and for every shooting victim they detected 95 gunshots which is slightly over 1% hit ratio. Admittedly if you factor in multiple gunshot wounds per victim and some of the gunfire is random yahoos shooting in the air this goes up but even if you factor 3 hits per victim and only 1/3 of the shots are actually fired in anger you are still at a 9% hit rate.

When you run full auto Glocks with extended mags and shoot them sideways your hit rate is going down...

I've seen these turkeys shoot at each other. The vast majority of them run and fire the gun from an arm extended behind themselves and they run away.
The few that actually stand facing the target have something like a house or car occupied by the family of the indended victim. They'll only stand there facing the target because the target doesn't know to shoot back (yet).
