Chocolate chip chocolate cake waffles

Refined my chocolate chip chocolate cake waffle recipe.
Makes 8 waffles in a cuisinart waffle maker.
Dry ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup special dark cocoa powder
2 tbs baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

Wet:
2 cups milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil

Mix dry and wet separately first.
Mix both together thoroughly.
Once the Mix is smooth, add
1/2 cup chocolate chips.

From here follow instruction of your particular waffle maker.

Taking a guess...is that supposed to say add 1/2 cup chocolate chips?

I didn't see them mentioned anywhere else, or a time to add the other 1/2 of a known quantity.
