So they sent a postcard, and now everyone knows you got guns. Brilliant plan ding-dongs.
Well, I guess that's a little better than just flat out advertising it to anyone that might come in contact with it.No, it was a sealed postcard. I don't really like the fact that it was addressed to me or current resident. So I guess it's the same, either way cause everyone knows now.
Yeah, the CHP notice was an open postcard as pictured. Uggh.Well, I guess that's a little better than just flat out advertising it to anyone that might come in contact with it.
I'd like to say I'm surprised, but I'm really not. That makes meYeah, the CHP notice was an open postcard as pictured. Uggh.
I'm not sure if we received that postcard, but if we did...I'm fine with it. It's a good reminder to folks. Probably comes from a good place. I'm not looking for reasons to be offended.
I'm not offended by it. I just don't think it's a good idea to send stuff out that could identify my house as having guns. No need to advertise that to criminals.
Wow...I started to say unbelievable but I guess it is...Yeah, the CHP notice was an open postcard as pictured. Uggh.
I'm of two minds on this.
One side, of the people in my CC class, 90% were not "gun" people and those folks had never taken a safety class nor one on marksmanship so the friendly safety reminder might be warranted.
OTOH- coming from a family of postal employees (all of whom shoot and like guns, let the jokes commence) I can say that there are those in USPS employ who will steal your stuff or alert their associates to which abodes have the best stuff to steal. Just because they work for the USPS doesn't mean they're honest nor trustworthy. Lots of Affirmative Action going on along with political correctness in that bunch.
Exactly. Last time my brother pat was down for the holidays I took him, his GF and GF's daughter to the range for Aroma Therapy. They loved it.The real message?
"Let people touch your guns during the holidays"
You're in Denver, correct? If you're in the Lincoln Co portion, I would hesitate to call this group pro-2a, as they seem a little too beholden to the interests of the carpet baggers over by the lake.Nope; I live in a county with a pro-2A sheriff that doesn't get preachy at Christmas.

Some transplants (who else?) complaining about folks shooting on their own property, trying to get a county wide shooting ban. Carpenter told them he was considered it but unable to enforce it, instead of telling them to pound sand back in Connecticut or whatever overtaxed s-hole they came from. It was in the paper.Yeah, we’re down in the Westport area.
I’ve never had any issues with Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office with regards to being hardasses about carrying or anything.
Sure, they aren’t as effortless as Iredell County was when we lived there (permit took 12 days, over Thanksgiving for me and like 14days over Christmas for my wife) - but I’ve only been here a couple years.
What kinds of less than 2A friendly stuff do you know of?
"Signed" might've made a difference in the past, but there's no current requirement...and hasn't been for almost 18 months.Word of mouth is that he only signs off NFA stuff for friends, but that is heresayI can neither confirm nor deny.
I'm aware, but retroactive cronyism in trade for Constitutional rights is just as indicative of character, regardless of regulation changes."Signed" might've made a difference in the past, but there's no current requirement...and hasn't been for almost 18 months.

He's a nice guy, hard on the druggies, but that left a bad taste in my mouth.
