CMMG .22 dedicated upper. Any experience?

For me it’s been the opposite - the factory mags work great, but two Black Dogs I got just won’t. They have a very different profile and sit way too high up in the mag well, I can post pics here later to show if anyone is interested.

I have 2 factory mags and 3 black dog mags. All have worked fine for me, but the black dog are smoked clear plastic and they’re all cracked at the fasteners where the halves of the mag are pinned together.
it’s just small spider cracks right now, no impact but with heavy use I can see it being a problem.
Black dog mags were super cheap when I bought them, so for a range toy I would buy them again. Not sure if they’re still super cheap since that was 7 or 8 years ago.
Looks like their new mags are “sonic welded” and don’t have those fasteners holding the halves together. Maybe that’s fixed the cracking issue but caused others. Echo do your mags have brass/silver fasteners in the lower corners?

The mags I have are these - the lower two are the factory (I think) mags that I got with the upper. They work fine. The upper two are Black Dog after markets that don’t work. You can see from the shapes why, they’re completely different.
This is using the CMMG upper on a standard basic AR lower, normal mag well in it.
Not sure what M&P mags look like for comparison, or what mag adapter I would need. But here they are for comparison and advice!

I was thinking the CMMG upper would be cool on my form-1 lower.
What length barrel are you going for?
