CMP 1911s, round two

Looks like they are up to 24,3xx. I'm 24,5xx and the wait is now torture 🥵🥵. Firmly decided on a rack grade and keeping my fingers crossed I don't get a post war slide.
You should feel lucky. My number is 31XXX. At this rate, I won't get the call for at least another year. But that is what I get for foolishly believing them when they said there was no reason to rush your packet because they were going to randomize the numbers . . .

Same here. I was wavering back and forth trying to decide, and finally sent mine in not long before the deadline. My number is 29xxx.

Maybe they randomized by day.

There are a number of folks in the CMP forum that sent in multiple packets at the same time for different people (self and wife, self and dad, etc.) and got consecutive numbers. So it may be possible that they randomized by individual days. But it is very clear that most every packet that went in early got a relatively early number and the later packets got the later numbers. I have yet to see anybody that waited until late and got an early number. I suspect that they probably got a huge crush of packets in the first week or two of the opening, then a trickle in the middle and another uptick in volume right at the deadline.

Idk....seems like this could have been graded higher. Lots of new parts. I was only offered a choice of rack or field grade.

Finally got my rack grade. My worst case scenario came true and I ended up with the TZ slide . A little disappointed but overall it's in fantastic shape for a rack grade and looks like it will be a great shooter. I don't think the grades mean much of anything right now. This could easily pass for a service grade, only has light wear on the slide with no rust or pitting anywhere **ETA: I did find some light surface rust under the grips maybe that's why it's a rack**. Slide parts look to be all TZ in great shape. I do like the two tone look between the frame and slide. I will probably try to find a ww2 slide to pair with it but not getting rid of anything.

Ended up finding a decent deal (by today's standards) on a Rand slide and HS barrel on ebay. 420 which puts me about 220 over what a service grade would have cost but I'm happy with it. Going to use the TZ parts for the range but display it with the rand parts. I was a little sheepish about spending the money but I feel a lot happier with it now so definitely worth it to me.

What grades were available and which did you choose?

Field Grade.... was my only choice....$950 delivered to my FFL. Overnight shipping.
Looks just as good as my Service Grade 1945 RR. How correct was it? The only thing that was not correct on mine was the barrel and I found a guy at the last gun show in Statesville that had a ton of WWII parts and had a ton of HS barrels and found one that fit perfect. I kept the barrel from the CMP as well.

Just received my gun. They only had rack grade left. Still very pleased. RNG was 27961. About a year from when I submitted my forms last January.

I sent my packet in the first day it opened up, and got a pretty low number for what its worth.

I finally got the call yesterday. RGN #31004. They had Field and Rack grades available. I debated asking for Rack, but flipped the coin and went with Field. Fingers crossed that I don't get the dreaded replacement slide, but am just excited to get one. Should arrive anytime this week.
