Never realized how much of a coffee snob I was until this morning talking with @Dwight_Schrute87 and @JRV in the shout box this morning🤣 I realized how diffrent I am making coffee these days v/s ten years ago. I blame a Senior Chief I worked for and COVID boredom for most of it. Any ways:

There it is, now my camping setup is usually a Aero Press, occasionally I will break out the old blue percolator and burn some already burnt Foldegers🤣

I just noticed I have Oaxaca and Ethiopian coffee🤣 I thought this week had Guatemalan and Ethiopian . Wife has an expresso maker too @Supermatch to make her NotBucks shaken oat milk expresso brown sugar thing on ice🤣

Moka pot if I’m feeling fancy. Daily is fresh ground and stovetop percolator.
Buy my beans at Cactus Creek Coffee in Aberdeen.

How’s that grinder? Other than a hand crank version, I haven’t found quality, a slow speed burr grinder. I’ve a Krups that’ll clog and sounds like a 747 taking off.
I want to try an Aero Press.

Drip coffee tastes like crap to me. I’ve been using an insulated French press for over a decade. My son has a VERY similar pour over setup. Him, my wife and I agree the FCC-2 tastes better, is easier to use and clean.
The temp, time and strength are adjustable. It’s a scientific beaker magnetic drive/percolator/pour over combo.

The only thing we’d change, make it larger.

I haven’t found a better coffee for the money, $10 for 14oz.

@Get Off My Lawn it is a noisy, but not as bad as multiple cheaper versions we had. I honestly preferred to use a hand crank until my hands started getting bad. Awesome setup man🤙

I want to be like you when I grow up🤣🤣🤣

Really it is not that hard after getting the right stuff and doing it once or twice.

Heat water, grind beans, put a filter in the Chemex, put ground beans in the filter of the Chemex, wait another minute or two for water to heat up, pour water over beans to the top of the glass, wait 30sec for first pour to drain through the beans, repeat twice, throwaway the grounds and filter, and pour your self a cup of morning happiness. Really it is that simple and takes 5-6min🤙

Because… Folgers is inexpensive Starbucks, burnt and nasty. I’d rather pour a caffeine powered drink into water.
Honestly it is the same way I explain why I reload 5.56. I like to do it, and I have the time.

Just bought the wife, who usually uses k-pods, a Kalita. We’ll see how that goes.

My Jura is out in the garage awaiting an unknown fate. Works well, hate cleaning it. If I was making coffee for 10 it’s be worth it, but cleaning every 2 or 3 cups, no thanks.

I’m using Nespresso pods, but tried a Lavazza machine in a hotel last month and it was better.

I’m not a snob about it, but do drink it black.

That is what I want! A perfect strong nutty/chocolatey cup of black coffee, that’s all I want…

Don’t make me take my pain meds and fight you. Folgers is life.

I usually use my Keurig out of impatience and convenience. When I have a little more time, I love the coffee my Areopress turns out. Strong, black & smooth with super low acid and oiliness.

Ninja and Folgers Black Silk. I wish I was patient enough to spend 45 minutes making a cup of coffee.

I printed those labels😇

Usually auto drip in the morning and kureig the rest of the day. That was until I discovered cuban coffee, aka Colada. I had my first one a few weeks ago in the Miami Airport and when I got home I hut Amazon for a Mocha pot and little stainless steel mixing cup.

6 cup mocha pot of nice Lilly coffee. 4 Tbls of sugar in the SS cup. Once the pot starts bubbling up coffee, add a little to the sugar and stir, stir, stir, until the pot is done brewing. Pour coffee into SS cup that has the sugar already mixed, give it a stir and pour into your cup. Its almost like a coffee syrup when you're done.

Bro, I lived in West Palm Beach and had my office in Pahokee FL, there was this old gas station turned Cuban store/restaurant. Got a cup of Cuban Crack, two medicine cups to share it, 4 empanadas for $5. Man I miss some things about that time in my life and Cuban coffee is up there.

Years ago I had a multi day work trip to Miami. Found a restaurant called Juan's Cafe, Cuban of course. The food was delicious. I ate dinner there and had the fish, which was really good, and I DON'T like fish. However the breakfast was to die for. The bacon was unlike American bacon but better and the toast. It was, hard to describe, toasted or baked on the outside with soft bread with melted butter on the inside.

When I want a really good cup of coffee , I get some good beans ground and use my old percolator pot. I’m able to get a nice, rich cup of coffee. I like the OPs set up and would like to try something else.
In addition to perc pot, we have a Bunn , and a Keurig

I worked in Tampa for about 15 years, the Cuban coffee will wake you up and is so good going down.

The best I've had was in Cartagena Colombia.
Down there for a new plastic factory.
One of the ladies came by around 9:30 on the first day and asked us if we wanted coffee?
We had had coffee at 6:30 that morning and none since.
She brings back a carafe and the little plastic holder that uses cone shaped paper inserts.
We look at this and tell her thanks.
That stuff had us bouncing in short order.
Next day she comes around and we all said "Yes Please!"

I would do some really shady stuff for good Cuban food. Mojo pork, black beans and rice, plantains. Man, have to hit FL soon🤣

Back in my wilder days we went to Miami and got HAMMERED. It was about 3 in the morning and i told my buddy i didn't think i could make it back to the hotel.

He walked me across the street to a little vendor cart and got me 3 shots of Cuban coffee. They were 25 cents each. (I'm told)

Not only did i make it back to the hotel, i kept going past it to the next bar. Few more drinks from a lady bartender with sparklers on her boobies and ate pancakes with a waitress when her shift was over. I think i finally went to bed at 9am... that Cuban coffee is the real deal.

I got a cheap French press from WM

All fancy for a cup here and there I guess is ok.

But the 2nd, 3rd, 4th cup of the morning?

I am not responsible enough to be left around Cuban espresso without adult supervision. My heart would explode within a week.
