Yeah I don't think you could get a better example of pure stupidity. On both the part of the woman and the judicial official that issues this dumb as Fudge order.

Also there is no way you can tell me that this Beatty ain't gonna 1. Be charged with perjury 2. Be sued for defamation.
 
When they literally BEG you to put it down and you dont, you deserve to get shot, they obviously didn't want to shoot this guy, stupid games stupid prizes, when I first saw this I almost thought "suicide by cop" then I thought, no too stupid for that

No she didn’t. The child in common cause is poorly worded and she used that wording to her advantage.

I think it’s hilarious that one of the door kickers got this stupid “law” used against him. When there are consequences maybe they’ll start making better choices as far as whose side they’re on.
 
Looks like it was justified use of force to me.

Using Red Flag Laws to go after the Kings men. Somebody didn't think these laws language through, because this could be a major litigation issue for the leftists states. I'd bet they may have problems getting people to be LEO'S like this.

Yep. Once again they didn't think it through. Murphy can be a real SOB, and sometimes that's a good thing.
 
Can anybody who feels "threatened" by police officers file an ERPO on them? Wait, can I file an ERPO on you before I rob you or murder you?
 
It should be an example of how badly this can be abused, but it will just serve as an example of a loophole to close for LEOs.

That's a stretch, man. He didn't write the law. And as far as our extremely limited knowledge goes, he's never enforced such a law. Hell, he might even sit int he ready room bitching about the law before/after his shift. (I bet he does now)

Don't paint all of them with the same brush.

I have more faith in a free newspaper’s horoscope reading than I do of most of the opinions about LEO’s on this forum.

Bickering over feeling about LEO's aside, everyone seems to miss the point that these so called protective laws can and will be misused. This isn't a case of someone swearing out because their significant other is being abusive but simply revenge becasue of something they didn't like. Each of us should imagine that you spoke with a neighbor about their dog relieving himself on your lawn and they decide you are now dangerous and turn you in. Or you get divorced or breakup with someone and they now get their revenge by flagging you. and many states are trying to pass it so they you do not even know who your accuser is.

Just image if I went to _____ county and said ______ has been posting violent sounding posts on CFF and I know he has many guns since he's posted about them and I feel threatened becasue he and I argued on a post.

When I was a LEO and had to arrest someone or file for a warrant, it had to go to a magistrate who weighed the evidence and determined if there was just cause and you had better be damn sure of your case becasue if he didn't agree your butt was going to be chewed. Sure you might be exonerated in court, if you even get a hearing, but in the meantime you have lost your firearms, been publicly ostracized, and forced to spend both time and money to answer these charges.

Remember history of Nazi Germany and the old USSR where citizens were encouraged to rat on their family and friends and now you see where we are heading.
