Definitely an option but man do I dig the AK-V. It's been flawless so far and honestly feels a bit more robust than this thing. Also, with a Scorpion sharing safe space I think the mag compatibility is a huge bonus.

So I snagged this Kalashnikov USA KR-9 a little while back for no good reason. With a PSA AK-V that gets a ton of love, I'm kind of at a crossroads with this thing. I dig the closer authenticity (minus the rifle barrel) to the Russian Vityaz, but the proprietary mags are 3+ times the cost of AK-V mags and the 16" barrel looks kinda goofy IMO. Love this triangle folder though.

It shoots it all. Also has a built-in adjustable gas flow regulator (kinda like a factory KNS gas piston).

PSAK-74 I snagged to relieve some wear & tear on my import 5.45 guns. Fit & finish are quite nice ... time will tell if this thing develops some of the well-documented issues others have had, but that's what lifetime warranties are for, I suppose.

I just put this 503G on my Galil and the damn TORX head snapped off inside the screw head, I swear it’s always something… FML 🤦🏼‍♂️ And I cannot get the friggin thing out!

Dental pick worked slowly and gently around the edges over and over till it comes out.

I hate to say it, but maybe cut a slot in it with a dremel and use a flat blade to unscrew it? Thats just rough 😔 its going to suck no matter what is done

Tried that, it’s a T10 so it’s really small, I tried super gluing it to something to pull it out and that didn’t work, I tried tapping it from the other side, nope

Its such a small screw, its hard to work with in these cases... the good thing is if the mount is damaged... you can always source another. But it still sucks 😕

Put some oil on it and using the dental pick on and off heat it with the tip of a soldering iron .

Dusting off the cobwebs here and showing off a little North Carolina love - swapped out the IWI brace on my Galil ACE with a Charlotte-based CNC Warrior brace.

I love those braces. I'm getting tinnitus just looking at the tiny barrel and brake.

Reverse dong, as in the version designed to clear an md.65 underfolding stock? That will definitely look cool and unique - just practice some mag changes with it, as the dongs can get in the way a bit. Or, you can always rock some Hungarian tanker mags.
