Water is still rising and will crest in the next few days. Actual crest varies depending on who you listen to.
My normal commute to and from work is 20 minutes, 30 minutes if traffic is really bad. Yesterday it took a little over 3 hours for me to get home. And, I left work at 2 PM to avoid the rush. Haha Lots of roads closed at this time due to flooding.

Ironic that I would be reading this thread and watching the videos and the same thing came on the news.
You know that if things get bad enough for you all you need to do is send up the Bat Signal and help will be on the way!! (que Batman music).....
You'd have to use the Bat Copter to get here. I don't think you have enough patience to sit in the traffic. It was horrible yesterday. If some roads haven't opened up by Monday morning, and I doubt that they will, I'm staying put at home. It just ain't worth it.

Impossible for me to comprehend.

Lots of heartache in lower South Carolina. My uncle just moved their a couple months ago and he moved into my other uncle and aunts house in Myrtle due to floods. Its a tough situation and a heck of a mental strain on households.

I realized once again how fortunate I've been through all of this. I hope all of you down there are staying safe and that the water will recede soon.
I'm very sorry you're having such a rough time.

It's a damn mess. People down the road 1/2 mile sandbagging a swimming pool. Bad JuJU. Our 300 yard range is a foot deep. Our CQB steel range is flooded on the low side towards the rifle range. Behind the tire is too wet to walk it. None on the range proper or anywhere in the yard or road in. We used to kid by saying..if we have water in our yard, Conway would be gone...not a joke any more.

Good luck down there on the Wacamaw! We got in by boat to my parent’s house on the Little Pee Dee today so they could get some things out of the top floor. Here is a shot looking down the stairs into the first floor...we guess about 2 ft higher than Matthew. It has dropped about 4 stair steps since Thursday. They only have one small room downstairs after Matthew’s havoc as they turned most of it into garage. Water is one bad motha’!!!

The last pic is of a liquor bottle floating at the steps...my dad said he was wondering if that was a sign!?!?

Unfortunately the Bat Copter is in for scheduled maintenance but I do have the Bat Boats that could reach you easily.... Just send the signal and Junior will ready the rigs and Tommy and I will be on the way!!

This is the bridge that I normally cross over the Waccamaw River to come home from Conway.

Just across the bridge looking up Hwy 905.

WOW!

wishing you all the best! Things that we can't control really suck. We can prepare but we can't defeat nature.

Wow. You guys be safe, hopefully this will recede soon. Dang mess to clean up afterwards.

I lived there five years and the worst flooding we had then was in 98 after Fran and Bertha I think it was. Mom still lives in Conway (thankfully on high ground) and said she heard of people tied up on 501 for as many as five hours Friday. I’ve heard that the Waccamaw isn’t supposed to crest until mid next week . Stay safe, sir.

I was only in traffic for a little over 3 hours on Friday but I left early to beat the rush. :)
They are calling for it to crest Tuesday or Wednesday, depends on who you listen to, with 2 more feet of water yet to come.

I worked at The Witch Golf Links when I lived there. What I remember most when the water receded was the smell. Nothing like it. Stench was sickening.

Its really bad, i have been in this area for 46 years and never seen anything like this., my son sold his house on the waccamaw river in 2016, it was on 10 foot stilts. Today this house has 1 foot of water in. A lot of people are really hurting and need prayers, they have no flood insurance.

How is it further down the 701 highway? My sister used to live at Lake Yauhanna, across from the Waccamaw refuge. I imagine that's all under water at this time.

Ik, it ain't gonna be good..All this water is headed that way and to Georgetown. It's a mess here. Down to one way in and out. Thankful no damage on The Battery Oaks.
Good to hear brother. Hope y'all continue to stay high and dry during this Hurricun season ;)

If that SOB reforms in the Atlantic I am gonna lobby for some beneficial weather modification intervention by the overlords :D
