Have a buddy interested in these. Particularly their double stack.

Anybody have any experience with them?

I liked mine for the most part. The sights were way off so I took it to him to get them swapped out for an adjustable rear set. He didn’t have any that would fit the rear dovetail, which I thought was weird since he sells some with adjustable rears. Said he would have to order some. We adjusted mine as best we could, leaving it wayyyy off to the left of the slide.

We also had talked about him building me a second, longer slide for competition use. When I talked to him the second time about the slide, the price he gave me was much higher.

So I sold the gun.

Not bashing the guns, just telling you my experience. It was a pretty new company when I bought mine and I understand kinks need to be worked out, etc.

The fit and finish was great, really smooth action and crisp trigger. No real complaints about the gun itself aside from the sight issue.

Pretty odd to see this today. I had to go to Hendersonville yesterday and decided to check out a few gun/pawn shops before heading back home. My GPS had Cosaint on the list as a gun shop. Thinking they sold guns, I stopped in. I was met by the owner, we spoke briefly and he seemed like a very nice guy. While speaking with him, I realized I had heard of the company once or twice before.

Yeah Greg is a super nice dude. He didn’t let you pop some shots in the berm out back?

Nah, I think he as a bit surprised to see me in the office.....seemed busy, but didn't rush me out.

Two thumbs up from me! It is built like a tank and shoots smooth and slick. I have about 1200 trouble free rounds through mine with no issues at all. No issues with 124gr HST and eats 115gr range ammo. Greg is impressive because prior to my purchase I had some questions I sent via email. He personally responded within minutes and was available for follow up questions. Very impressive customer service.

I made my order the other day. Total came out to just shy of 3k for the 4.25" model, but I ordered a completely decked out ported barrel and the like. Current times seem to be about a month out for production, so I'll report back when I get it in! I shoot a ton so this thing will definitely be put through the paces.

So first impressions of my pistol aren't great... I spent 3k on it, I'd expect it to fire every time I pull the trigger. Absolutely phenomenal looking firearms, and shoots like a laser, truly.

Pros
The fast safety is awesome. Just push the hammer back forward and its in safe. Pull the safety down and the hammer drops down.
Shoots awesome.
Grip feels great.
Smoothest slide on a pistol I've ever held.
Fit and finish is excellent (minus trigger, see con)

Cons
The front sight is sharp as hell. Like, if you drag it against something it'll cut it sharp.
Tons of slop up and down (and side to side) in the trigger
Grip safety seems oddly positioned in such a way that its hard (for me at least) to activate it when I have my thumb pulling down on the safety (which is my go to hold for 1911/2011)
Out of probably 250 rounds, I had about 50 FTF's or FTE, one stovepipe.

Here's a vid demonstrating some of the troubles I had

Tomorrow (Monday) I'll contact greg and see what can be done about the problems. I'm thinking it needs a stronger spring. As for the safety, I'm gonna see about fixing that myself..

Oof. Yeah that’s not fun. Hopefully Greg can sort you out quickly. Didn’t realize they cost 3k now either.

Reloads?
If so, COAL?
2011's are particular about OAL.

3k because I chose every option on the COS21 including the fast safety, aggressive grip, the ported barrel, and tac steel

At my last match, I was squadded up with a machinist that works at Cosaint and he was a super cool dude.

That’s all I got.
I spent some time talking to a couple of them and even greg himself. They're all great people and I'm sure they'll make it right. But not too happy with my first impressions. My father also purchased one and is having similar issues with a COS11.

Did he get the fast safety too? Could be something with that. Mine never had any issues (but it was before they rolled out the fast safety).

Yeah, he actually purchased one on the spot (it was one of their demo guns)... I wonder if it does have to do with the safety. That would really suck, that was one of the big selling points for me. It was gonna be a my EDC.. Ended up picking up a Wilson Combat SFX9 for that though, but I did want to purchase the Cosaint short barrel with porting and all if this one did good based strictly off the safety. That being said, I need to be able to get any ammo through my edc you know?

Update:
Greg is awesome. He said to go shoot it again, but with a ton of oil. The ammo shouldn't matter, he said they buy tons of different types and shoot it all. He mentioned oiling in a couple spots I might have missed, and going to shoot again. He also said he's going to talk to one of his machinists to fine tune the grip safety since there was another individual with the exact same concern (riding the thumb safety doesn't allow full engagement of the grip safety). Really great guys to work with. I'll update this thread with what all happens, but they are great people; I'm sure they'll make it right.

Update, probably around 600ish rounds in. FTE/FTF issues seem to have resolved themselves. Sending back to greg so that he can fix the grip safety for me, he mentioned another person saying they had an issue also while riding the safety as their go-to. Might pin it, might make it more sensitive. We'll see, cool gun though!

It's crazy flat compared to my other pistols. Comparable to the DWX I sold. Only one I have that shoots flatter is the Alien (also comped and a completely different design so not even a fair comparison).

Greg the owner is great and I love to support local companies, but having handled a few Cosaints, for the money, I think Staccatos are a much better overall product.

I’ve got zero experience with staccato so can’t compare. I will say now that my COS21 has a couple thousand rounds through it, all issues have resolved themselves. I think the tolerances are just that tight. The slides in these Cosaints are the closest thing to buttery smooth I’ve felt. I sent back my COS11 for a mainspring issue and Greg was happy to accept it back for warranty and he’s also going to port it while it’s there for me. Super solid guy!
