Cumberland County Sheriff Stops Issuing Permits

If you were already fingerprinted at the office and just waiting on the permit(s) to be issued, they will mail it to you...but they have closed the office, so no more finger printing, so no new permits.

Also heard that Harnett County had stopped altogether…maybe someone can confirm?

2:35 p.m.: Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker said no pistol purchase or concealed carry permits can be requested through the end of April to try to keep the new coronavirus out of the sheriff's office. The hiatus will give deputies a chance to catch up on the backlog of pending permits, he said.

Nearly 300 people a day have applied for permits so far this year, more than triple the number last year, officials said.

The Wake County Sheriff's Office already is quarantining in individual cells new people booked into the detention center and has, with permission of state courts, halted serving civil papers and carrying out evictions to limit the spread of the virus.

The Person County Sheriff’s Office is still open as of Friday and is still processing PPP’s and CHP renewals but not accepting NEW applications for CHP’s because they aren’t doing any fingerprinting. However that status is also under review each day and the whole gun permitting process can change at any time.

Catawba County is not doing concealed carry nor inside request for renewals or pistol purchase permits. Pistol purchase permits can be completed online.

We have one of the biggest jackasses in the state as our Sheriff and I will do my part to make sure he is not re-elected. We have to educate people who are not of the gun but people who are not of the gun are seeing first hand what hidden agendas these jokers have now that they (poeple not of the gun) are trying to buy a gun for the first time.

Nope, haven't seen ours tell people that bonds are being lowered in an attempt to clear out CCDC either...

Or can conceal carry without permit on their business property is legal for both owners and employees with the owner’s permission.
