Custom Rifle Build #2 35 Whelen

I do my know. It is “student” work and not as uniform and precise as CNC stock inletting and such that the big guys have. I can share my costs, but I did not count hours, nor know how to value my time just yet.
BUT that handcrafted touch with its slight “variances” is what gives the girl life and character ... it is an art to many of us. All the mass produced things be it a gun ... car or such are cookie cutter type things ... craftsmanship is something you will never get from a HAAS ... precision yes but soul no. While I know it is not art to the average person ... to me it is a sculpture that just happens to have more of a purpose than just sitting on a stand. Your early work is yours and if mine I wouldn’t part with it for pure sentimental reasons ... very few things today have the care and attention you’ve put into that rifle.

Your work on my LC Smith was something that was done by hand and eye ... with care for what I wanted and we agreed that girl deserved. Do not compare your work with anything off a machine that has no hand with a heart controlling it ... that is truly what give a legacy firearm it’s life.

Hope that puppy is accurate. 😎
It's pretty close at 100yds. The limb was across the range, about 40 yds out. Windage seems good, just need to sight it in properly. I wish I could do so at 200yds, but I don't have access to a place with that kind of distance. Shoot, I've never got anything longer than 80yds.

It feels great to shoot it. Recoil was like the rifle version of .45acp. To me, .45 is like a hefty shove. Not a slap, not sharp or quick, but a big ass shove. This thing felt like that. And the sound was wonderful. FWUMP!
