BUT that handcrafted touch with its slight “variances” is what gives the girl life and character ... it is an art to many of us. All the mass produced things be it a gun ... car or such are cookie cutter type things ... craftsmanship is something you will never get from a HAAS ... precision yes but soul no. While I know it is not art to the average person ... to me it is a sculpture that just happens to have more of a purpose than just sitting on a stand. Your early work is yours and if mine I wouldn’t part with it for pure sentimental reasons ... very few things today have the care and attention you’ve put into that rifle.I do my know. It is “student” work and not as uniform and precise as CNC stock inletting and such that the big guys have. I can share my costs, but I did not count hours, nor know how to value my time just yet.
Your work on my LC Smith was something that was done by hand and eye ... with care for what I wanted and we agreed that girl deserved. Do not compare your work with anything off a machine that has no hand with a heart controlling it ... that is truly what give a legacy firearm it’s life.
