Got an older Dayton 3E227A off another member here. I need to convert it to LP. It's a discontinued model, and for some reason there is very little information out there. I was able to get the conversion kit for the valve easily enough. I am having some issue with the spud orifices though. Apparently the Dayton number for them is 21068, but I can't find that any where. That's a 57 orifice. I can find other 57 orifices, but the thread pitch is my issue. Does anyone know what the thread pitch is for gas orifices on older heaters? I think I know the pitch on this one, but if some one knows chime in!
ETA:
I did a lot of searching to finally find the stuff needed for this conversion. I have edited the tread title in hopes that others may find this information more easily than I did since a conversion kit is no longer available.
Parts:
#57 7/16-27 spud orifice QTY 5. I had to get #72 and drill out to 57. I sourced a 6 pack on ebay.
Universal water heater pilot. I got this one: Amazon product ASIN B0BM6BH4QTHoneywell 393691 Gas Valve Conversion Kit provided your heater has a VR8200 valve. Note: the cap in this kit is the wrong thread, but you can use the original cap as the only difference is thread pitch.
