Wasn't sure where to put this. Any diabetics on the forum using Dexcom G7 CGM? If so, have you noticed any issues, calibration, with it since the time change last night? I believe there is a bug in their software and trying to explain it to CS with "John" in India was a real challenge. Bernard H. on the online chat just said it was a bad sensor, to change it out and they would send me a new one. Changed sensors, and still has the same issue.

I’ve had lots of patients complaining about the G7, a lot of them have gone back to the G6 until the manufacturer gets their crap together.

Aside from that I don’t have any good info at the moment aside from use a backup glucometer and see if it makes sense to switch to the G6 for the time being.

I've had better luck with the G7 over the G6 as I kept hitting them and knocking them off and the G7 has been more accurate than the Libre CGM.

Since the time change last night, when you either calibrate or enter a glucose value, it shows the correct time on the screen when you save it, but then when you go to the 2nd screen to "confirm" it list the time as 1 hour prior and then it is saved as 1 hour earlier. It looks like it is calibrating on the 1 hour earlier sensor reading instead of the current reading. All the saved historical events are showing as 1 hour earlier that what they actually were.

And the Dexcom software will not allow the patient to take a screen shot for "security purposes", but if I share my data with someone like my wife, she can take a screen shot of MY data. Seems completely backwards.

Lmao, yep. That sounds about right for them. Not even accounting for daylight savings.

I know for the sensor placement, I always tell people to put a nice big piece of Tegaderm over top the sensor to make sure it stays in place. But I’m sure you’ve already heard that.

I would definitely call and let the manufacturer know about the daylight savings value change thing, I’m sure it’s something they need to push an update out for.

Everyone’s told me that the Freestyle Libre is garbage in comparison to the Dexcom. But at least in both cases they’re ballpark okay compared to sticking yourself 8 times a day.

I think the only patient I have still on the Libre is a canine who wears it on his back.

Either way, sorry you’re dealing with all this. Have the values been accurate for the most part when it is working?

The VA just changed me from the G6 to the G7, I have about 1.5 months of G6’s left. Hoping it gets fixed before I change over.

I called CS and discussed it later that day with "Bernard" in India and explained the urgency of it. He said he would escalate it up the chain and it was fixed the next day.

I do like the G7 better than the G6, just due to the size. The bigger G6 kept getting hit and knocked loose either on my side or the back of my arm.

If you use an insulin pump, the G7 does not communicate with pumps yet and you would need to continue with the G6.

FYI, once you start on the G7, look at the open end of the applicator after you apply the sensor. There is a small 3/16" dia magnet that is super strong in the applicator. I take a small screwdriver and flip it out and then use the magnets to hold stuff on the refrigerator or the metal garage door.
