I see what I mean...
This guy probably trips over cases of ammo between his bed and the coffe maker in the morning
I wouldn't be surprised if you found loose rounds in the sugar dish and random loaded mags behind the milk in the fridge 😂
I see what I mean...
Glad to see all the responses to the post. What I expected from some. Guess I am just a little different then most.
I am a supplier of raw materials that sometimes help firearm owners, and I do sell for profit because I do believe in capitalism.
But but recently I sold an item to a fellow person on this form for $0.15 a pound less than I'm getting. He enjoys doing it and I also guarantee whatever he doesn't get rid of I'll buy back at the same price. That way he's guaranteed not to lose any money. I have done this many of times to help out fellow guns owners. I have also sold some primers to a fellow cowboy that was getting real low. I paid .03 for the primers and sold them for .03. I knew of him, but didn't know him. That is how I roll.
I am not asking anyone to do that, but there is no need to stick it to someone because someone can.
I read the neg posts for the first time the other day.
One of the admins said, we are not GB, FB etc. we hold out members to a higher standard.
JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN, DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD!
Keep ragging me....thats OK! I'm a big boy.
And yes, I will still sell my primers for .03 to a person who is in need. The only problem is figuring out who is in need and who is FOS!
I just hope this post will change the way some of us think!
Now back to reloading!!
Thanks....and you are right! True shooters and gun owners take care of one another.Your post likely wont change any minds.
Why?
Because the core group already does what youre talkin about. We take care of each other when we are in need. I recently sold some ammo (600 rounds) at cost to a member who is doing a training class this weekend. Another member sold me 250 rounds of 22lr at his cost so I could get my kid behind the trigger.
While we do have those that will take advantage of the market, the 'gougers' you see here are largely Armslist refugees just tryin to dig dollars outta pockets.
Click on the selkers profiles in some of those for sale ads and check out when they joined, how many posts they have, and how few of those posts are not in the BST. I think youll start to see a trend.

That was my reason for the post. I believe there is a difference in Capitalism and plain F***ing someone. As things have gotten worse with the shortages, I’ve been more lenient with the rising prices. Then you have the jackass newbs who post powder up for $100/# and that bs makes the forum look bad. Blatant gouging should get you kicked out of here IMO.
Higher prices is the defense against hoarding
The gun store around the corner from my house has lots of 9mm. It is about $40 a box. He gets more supply every week or even twice a week. I also watch him pay .60-70¢ a round just so he can have it in stock so people who don’t have it can pick a box or two up. Most of his retailers died up months ago and he buys it from the same places we do (when we can find it). Nobody forces people to buy it, yet those that didn’t have enough gripe at him and tell him he is gouging. Yet the same ones are trying to sell their Bear Creek or PSA AR for $1500 on Go Wilkes or Go Ashe. It is like saying that you should sell me that 1968 Colt Python for the $262 it cost new back then .
I agree, some of the prices are insane, but free market is a hell of a thing. Don’t buy from these guys that are insane on prices and search around. I personally won’t do business with Cheaper than Dirt because of unscrupulous practices years ago.
So what is the cut off? $90/# ok but $100/# gets you kicked out? Again if you don't like the price move on. If they can't sell it they will either drop the price or keep it. That is how a "free" market works. As things have gotten worse with the shortages, I’ve been more lenient with the rising prices. Then you have the jackass newbs who post powder up for $100/# and that bs makes the forum look bad. Blatant gouging should get you kicked out of here IMO.
Unless you've been living under a rock everyone's been talking about prices going up and shortages since Biden announced his run in April 2019. Everyone's had plenty of time to stock up on whatever they needed. If they haven't who's to blame, the people who've prepared for what was forecasted almost 2 years ago? Now the people who didn't want to sit and complain about people who did by calling them rip off artists. Sorry I can't feel sorry for anyone who didn't. Not to mention you don't have to buy it.That was my reason for the post. I believe there is a difference in Capitalism and plain F***ing someone.
I started stocking up doing the Obama BS. I told myself, it will never happen to me again. And yes, I was able to stock up. But there are some who just doesn't have the funds to do what I and many others have done. They like to shoot but they are unable to stock the needed supplies because of limited funds. So they buy what they can afford and live month by month. Doesn't matter what the reason, but f ing someone to the point they cannot enjoy the sport is not what I would do. Guess I just care more than others! Have a good day!Unless you've been living under a rock everyone's been talking about prices going up and shortages since Biden announced his run in April 2019. I will look into that.It seems like this forum and its future are very important to you, that’s awesome. You should consider becoming a member to help provide support to the community that you enjoy.
It has nothing to do with how much you care about others. You miss the concept that someone willingly paying for goods or services at an agreed upon price is not getting F88Ked. They are entering into a transaction. There are people in this world who have enough money but don't have anytime. They see something that they want and the buy it. They don't have time to stalk websites for hours a day to save $50. Their time is worth more than that so if they see a $100 box of primers they can get right now and get back to their life they are more than happy to pay the premium. Stop applying your subjective code of ethics and your value system to everyone.I started stocking up doing the Obama BS. I told myself, it will never happen to me again. You also forgot the thread where someone was looking for ammo for I believe the boy scouts if I remember. Many of us including myself offered a brick of 22's for free. I've sold some of my 22's to a forum member here twice for way under what I could have gotten for them. The BST is what it is. It's a free market and you are welcome to buy it for the asking or just move on, but I don't think it reflects upon the forum itself.""Also if you just look at the BST you get the wrong impression about the forum. For example someone posted that they were new to reloading and can't find components and needed advice on how to start. Multiple people offered the FNG a 100 primers for free or almost free. Someone even offered to show them how to reload when they picked up the primers. I hooked up a fellow member with a 8lb jug of Win321 at cost late last year. My LGS had 3 I bought and kept 2 and hooked up the other member with the 3rd because I am not a total ahole. I saw a post about Win231 and that the other member could not find it anywhere and I said I will get it for you and get it to you. Things like this happen here all the time. It is what makes this place different than other national forums. Sorry to be sort of harsh but I think you are missing the big picture.""
Things like this do happen here ALL the time! We are fortunate.

Y'all are so good to us new shooters! Some people even get free holsters....
He mulls it over and realizes that you'll buy all he has and than follow @cubrock to the gun show and double your money. He than says no thanks.I understand what you are saying but it’s all on what you are able to replace the same product for now. So lets put this to the test. I will buy all the 9mm ammo you have at $450 per 1000 rounds. If you bought that ammo last year it may have cost you $200 per 1000 But I don’t want you to feel bad about ripping me off for $250 per 1000. I hope you stocked up well, maybe 10,000 rounds. You make profit off me of $2,500!
do we have a deal?
It's tough.I started stocking up doing the Obama BS. I told myself, it will never happen to me again. And yes, I was able to stock up. PS This is me right now....
It’s just because you are a girl.Y'all are so good to us new shooters!
I may be a girl, but I'm awesome also! lol. It’s just because you are a girl.
😉
Well said!It seems like this forum and its future are very important to you, that’s awesome. You should consider becoming a member to help provide support to the community that you enjoy.
I might keep a few for myself but hell Yes I would if @cubrock would let me tag along to sell my new ammo. Am sure all those profits would be spent buying guns from him though. He mulls it over and realizes that you'll buy all he has and than follow @cubrock to the gun show and double your money. He than says no thanks.
It's crazy right now. Sell and have a box full of paper with hardly any value or hold and see what happens. My experiences say this crap will pass also and things will come back down.
It's a gamble.
I am moving on....my feelings does not get hurt. Not directed at you personally @Bullseye Baldee but in general:
-If you only hang out in the BST section your view of the forum will come from that. You're missing out on the camaraderie (some good as others have mentioned. Some bad. Don't accept any pic from @Derek8404). Participate in and peruse the other subforums.
-New members, Gunbroker refugees, Armslist refugees, etc) who only hang out in the BST will probably have their opinion of the board formed from just that subsection as well. Those truly interested in becoming a forum regular will/will have participated in other sections. As another member has already mentioned you can usually sort the "wheat from the chaff" by looking at their post count and where those post have been. Low post count, only in the BST section, with prices on the upper end? My guess would be a refugee from one of the aforementioned places. Or someone looking to cash on on the current market. Absolutely nothing wrong with anyone asking what they want for their item IMO. It's capitalism. One of THREE things will happen. 1. It will sell. 2. No takers at the asking price so they will lower the price. 3. They keep bumping the thread to the top frequently without taking a clue from #2. You can ask what you want. I don't have to buy it. The reverse is true as well. Simple as that. I do what I do elsewhere on the internet. I keep scrolling.
-Items in the BST thread that are...um....at the top tier level or above on pricing (usually by new members) usually find their way for discussion in the "What's up with the BST ads?" thread that only supporting members can see. Worth the $20 IMO just for the entertainment in that thread alone.
Nah man continue. People live for crucifying their own. Today you get to be the whipping boy who was too poor to place a $10,000 order. You wouldn’t be poor if you didn’t have those children and bought that house. That was failure to prepare. Next time use a condom and pay cash.I am moving on....my feelings does not get hurt.
See you tomorrow, Pumpkin!! 😇Well said!
