does your 300BLK brass 'stick' in your priming tool shell holder?

I'm finding about 1/3 of my once fired 300BLK brass (not converted 556) doesn't actually fit in my lee priming tool shell holder.

Other calibers including 556 I occasionally get a wonky case that won't feed correctly but with 300BLK commercial cases it's such a significant percentage that I've switched over to using an old ram prime as 99% of the problem brass fits into the die shell holder just fine.

Is this common, or do I just have a really touchy priming tool shell holder that likes 556/223 brass but not 300BLK?

I had a similar problem with Lee 380 shell holder on my loadmaster. Switched to Dillon and the problem went away.

I've had an assortment of issues with reloading BLK including the one mentioned. Almost all mine is formed. Some by me, some commercial.
Priming with an RCBS Universal Hand Primer helped.
I also run SB dies for a better fit but still get the occasional stubborn case. Prolly somethin related to annealing but I ain't jackin with that..
About 99% of my BLK shooting is suppressed in a Handi. So the brass has an easy time of it. 🤠

You've using a dillon shell holder in a lee press? Surprised that setup doesn't burst into flames.

Sadly the lee loader uses it's proprietary shell holders. I was smart and got the complete set of holders in 1992 so I didn't have to buy one holder at a time every time someone suckered me into reloading yet another cartridge.

No the 380 was the last straw, I sold all me Lee stuff and converted to Dillon. Best money I ever spent.

No issues with 300 blk on my RCBS presses (using RCBS shell holders). priming I mostly do with the RCBS universal hand primer tool. I don’t recall loading 300 blk yet on my 550 so cannot speak to the Dillon. Also I’ve not used any Lee shell holders for 223/300 blk.

Looks like it might just be the Hornady brass. I've tried two others now and they 'just work' like everything else I've run through the hand prime.

Tossing that lot of brass seems to be the best course of action.
