I had to attend a meeting, at my church, this evening from 630pm to 730pm. Weather was great, so I decided to ride the Tenere 700 there. It's a quick 10min ride each way...

I've had it for 2 years, but I've only put 1000 miles on it, and I'm still a newb. I'm just now starting to feel really comfortable on it; loosening up and really enjoying the bike, but also reminding myself not to get complacent. And every time I look at the speedometer I have to remind myself to slow down.

At 6:25pm, I pulled into the church parking lot. I was expecting to see 4 or 5 cars, but the parking lot was packed. I didn't know it, at the time, but some youth leaders had a bunch of kids there for arts and crafts or something.

I pulled in and quickly realized there were no parking spots so I decided to just park it by the building entrance.

I was coasting, about 2mph, to a stop, and a good looking lady walked right in front of me. I was thinking about her legs instead of my bike, and next thing you know, my bike is laying on the ground. šŸ˜¬

I grabbed too much front brake while my handlebars were turned. Rookie mistake...

My feet were quick enough to keep me upright, but I let the bike go down gently.

It's a dirt bike. It's supposed to get dropped every now and then. It's not hurt...

But, sure enough, 10 people come running out into the parking lot to ask me if I'm alright, like I was about to die, or something... I quickly picked the bike up, and we all had a laugh.

The church handyman told me he was gonna make me some training wheels...

An 80yo lady said, "You need more practice."

The preacher said he was gonna get the video off the Ring doorbell camera and play it on the projector during the next service...

I felt more shame than I have felt in a long time. Oh well, lesson learned...

Note to self: Leave that front brake alone when pretty ladies cross your path...

I went to court one time to get a traffic ticket reduced.

The guy in front of me was up for running a red light. The cop, reading from his notes said ā€œthe defendant said he was distracted by a long leg in a short dressā€.

The courtroom erupted in laughter. Except for the judge. He was not amused.

Iā€™m probably in this category too now. But I will bet my percentage of quality miles is higher than most
Canā€™t drop that sidecar hack, so you got that going for you!
:D

Last Sunday cutting off 268 on to boomer road there was a Harley nose first in the ditch.
I cut the flashers on blocked the intersection as car after car cut up the wrong side of the road to avoid stopping I helped him wrestle it out of the ditch.
When I asked the twenty something guy how he ended up in the ditch his answer was the same as yours, don't ride a lot and wasn't paying attention.
I told him he got off lucky

Trust me, he was amused lol. šŸ˜

Wonder if the ring camera will show you eying the lady? šŸ¤£
Probably not... I was wearing a full face helmet.

But, it doesn't matter what the camera saw... Jesus already saw what was in my heart.

the only time I almost laid down the cruiser i had was when I took it to sell it. there were small gravels all over the entrance to the bank parking lot. talk about a pucker moment. the front wheel slid to the left about 6" while I was making the right turn into the lot. parked that thing in the closest spot, walked in handed over the title and took the check.

We need a nice clear pics of the lady so we can make a decision on whether to bash you some more or agree on the distraction.

Go ahead and keep bashing. Most of y'all would not think she was hot.

When I was a kid, my dad used to say something along the lines of, "They're all super models when the lights go out." Somehow, that really stuck in my subconscious. Hahaha. Every woman is good looking to me!

Funny my brother did the same with a 454ltd back in the late 80's at Alamogordo.
You spelled Alamoghetto wrong. šŸ˜
I was at Holloman AFB from May '82 to end of term in July '83. Bought my Kaw at the dealer in town. Great riding up into the mountains of Cloudcroft and beyond. Bar in Cloudcroft had a sign "72 mile to next watering hole," wich was Roswell. Alien HQ.

Really glad you arer ok. Bikes are easier to fix than people.

I've done worse, years and years ago down there in Daytona Beach one night. Me on my Sportster kinda flirting with two girls in a convertible from stop light to stop light. Then one stop light I try to put my left foot down and find my long shoelace got snagged and down I go. Now I'm trapped under the bike, the girls are laughing, light turns green the girls take off. The guy behind me in a car starts blowing his horn, like that's going to help. I'm stuck under the bike, yelling at him help. Course he didn't, finally pushed the pig off me . So yeah, OP , it could have been worse. Now let me tell you how many other times I've dropped my bike in the past 50 stinkin years, LOL Welcome to the club.

All I can say is, I've dropped a bike about 6 or 7 times since I started riding again as an adult 12 years ago. Five or six of those times were in a parking lot or a driveway moving less than 3 mph. It's embarrassing. It happens.šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø I just wish they had been because of the pretty legs.
