I built a tool to disassemble them and just cut the nails off.... looks kind of like this.

Then tie a heavy magnet on a string and drag it through the cold ashes to pull out all the nails. I then put the nails in the trash can so none can get out into the yard.

Add a blower made from a squirrel cage fan and some duct reducers you pirate from work, then add 4-5 bags of charcoal briquettes & let 'er rip!

Soon, you will have a unique & artsy hand-crafted steel fire bowl!
