EDC - with weapon light or without ?

Yes. Either a TLR7 or a TLR1. I figure, why not?

Nope. I do have an alternate carry gun with a light. I might grab that one if I was feeling paranoid about someplace I had to go out of the ordinary.

I have AIWB holsters to carry my 3 pistols with a TLR-1. However I rarely use them because my likelihood of needing a WML is low and they’re slightly less comfortable than non-WML holsters.

the PHLster floodlight got me into WML-based carry back around 2016.

P-07 with TLR-7 carries super easy.

One of mine does but the other does not. I prefer to have a light and red dot on all of my EDC but unfortunately I bought my 43x before the MOS version and I just have not upgraded yet.

On some yes, and some no. Summertime EDC is smaller for reduced weight and easier concealment in lightweight clothing and does not have a light. Wintertime EDC is larger since the extra weight and bulk is not an issue and has a light.

This ^

Also, statistically speaking since I spend more time away from home in dark hours in the winter I may be more likely to need a light then.

I have a light on my G19 (x300 and Holosun optic) sometimes it’s my EDC and sometimes I carry other smaller options. I would like to have some smaller light options that are more size appropriate and holsters to match, but I’m not there yet. I try to avoid debates on WML vs hand held- use whatever you want and/ or have on hand.

The size of the IWB holster was kinda what I was thinking about. There might not be much size difference between WML or no WML but I thought that it my be enough difference for me to consider one way versus the other. It just seems that my body proportions aren't exactly configured for IWB carry ?🤔

All carry methods require some degree of compromise for comfort , it also helps to make sure you have a little extra room in your pants. I have not found a perfect method of concealing a handgun for all clothing types and situations. Carrying a large lump inside your drawers isn’t natural or comfortable. I’ve been able to find a few different options that work ok for me for different guns based on clothing I’m wearing. A good belt is as important as the holster, so far the most comfortable are the IWB holsters with leather up against your body - hard plastic isn’t very comfortable for me.
But lately I’m considering trying appendix with a philster holster
Good luck it’s a journey

Yes, I run TL-7s and TL-1s along with Trijicon and Sig red dots. But be very careful using a flashlight on a weapon as it does tell everyone where you are.

What are you a ninja or something? Under what circumstances will you be sneaking around away from home (assuming EDC out of the house)?

Yes & no. My current edc is also my bedside pistol. In the evening, I attach my Olight Valkyrie and remove it in the morning. The Valkyrie has a nice QD mount so installing/removing it is super easy.

I have nothing extra hanging on my EDC. Just more stuff to snag, add weight, add bulk, and potentially fail. In the event I ever need to use it, looking Tacti-Cool is something I'm not concerned with.

I spend a lot of time at my cabin, which doesn’t have electricity. I’m so far up in the woods that you have to pipe in sunshine. We also get some very questionable characters wondering up our road. It’s nice to have a light with a gun attached to it sometimes, just for shits and giggLes. I also usu carry a PVS14.

Mine has nothing to do with looking cool. It has a use, and I practice with mine , getting it out of the holster a couple times a week. I’m around my barn in the dark, around my cabin in the dark, sometimes late on the lake and come in after dark, so the need is there and with the smaller lights, they’ve never hung up on anything. And in today’s world, I’d rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Just my .02.

I think using a weapon light as a flashlight is a good way joining the Alec Baldwin gun club.
“Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction “

What about, “Always be sure of your target”?

You cannot do that, in the dark, without some form of illumination and/or NVDs.

No. I do not like weapon mounted lights on pistols. They make sense on a long gun but don't improve my use of a pistol at all. YMMV.

Why? Because you shouldn't be pointing your pistol at things until you know what they are and are sure you want to shoot them. If the light is ON the pistol, ya can't do that. So you ALSO need a handheld light even if you have a WML, and I don't want to carry both. Again, YMMV.

I have nothing against weapon lights, I am not a fan of using a handgun as a flashlight. Needlessly flagging the world just because you don’t want to carry a flashlight is just lazy and dangerous.

Hand held light. I wouldn't want to be pointing a "loaded flashlight" at a family member coming out of the bathroom.

Provided you have a good WML, when used properly, you do not have to put the light on the target / point the weapon directly at the target in order to identify it.

Used properly, it's in the holster until it's time to start shooting, so that doesn't work for me.
