On 9/17, the North South Skirmish Association will be holding a "Recruit Skirmish". It's for non N-SSA members to get a chance to experience our form of competition and see if it's for them. You need not be a member to participate but you may well be afterwards. Muskets, leathers, and ammo will be provided, but you must RSVP to the email in the pic to reserve a spot.

Thought about it, but the front loader I want is just under two grand, just the rifle..........
Thankfully there's a semi-local company that loads for it, but the rifle is still very elusive.....
And I want a Whitworth rifle BAD.......

Since you're eastern NC, why not come on out to the NC Muzzleloading Rifle Championship this weekend at Crosse Creek Rifle and Pistol Club. I'll be there on Saturday and I'll see if I can talk my buddy with a Whitworth to bring it along.

I've shot my buddies Whitworth repop and a Volunteer. Either is fine. The Whitworth can be finicky to load with the hexagonal bullets but does quite well with a cylindrical. If you hang out with the N-SSA, you'll find that prices on guns between members is much more reasonable because we're interested in keeping our guys and guns on the range. Here's a couple pix of the Whitworth I shot and later made a box for-
