Just ate at Fishy Fishy in Southport, NC.
Excellent as always.
Excellent as always.
Okay, I felt like I needed to make this a large font, so it isn't missed! This weekend I ate at "Casey's Buffet" for the first time in my life. (It's in Wilmington, NC on Oleander Drive) and all I can say is DAMN! If you like southern food, you **HAVE** to try this place!
Their daily buffet menu consists of: BBQ Pork • Fried Chicken • Baked Chicken • Chicken & Pastry • Catfish • Whiting • Clam Strips • Fat Back • Fries • Chitlins • Rutabagas • Green Beans • Mac-N-Cheese • Sweet Potato Casserole • Cabbage • Boiled Potatoes • Corn • Blackeyed Peas • Turnips • Collards • Baked Beans • Green Peas • Lima Beans • Rice • Mashed Potatoes & Gravy • Chicken Salad • Coleslaw • Potato Salad • Pan Fried Okra • Roll • Hushpuppies • Apple, Blueberry & Peach Cobbler • Cherry Cheese Cake • Banana Pudding • Ice Cream • Bread Pudding • Pig Feet
Seriously, if you are going anywhere near Wilmington, try it!

Nice patio to sit on when the weather is nice, too.Been awhile since I have been there, but My Fathers Pizza in Black Mountain, NC is excellent.
Anybody ever been to JB's Lazy Pig BBQ in Waxhaw?
Evidently the owner is a Mod on AR15. I've seen him mention it several times, but never been over there.Jes!

In addition to the BBQ, he makes ice cream with liquid nitrogen?
Is there a count of how many have arrived in the last month?Sandman_NC welcoming the new refugees to Carolina Firearms Forum

At 7:15 last night only 2 members had been on in 15 min over there. The crowd got thin QUICK.I'm thinking around 60+ members...........we've had a good month.
@Burt Gummer was just here. This place is, is, is, uh, what's better than awesome? It's a unique place, with a honor system, and wonderful food.

My wife gets the grouper salad and luckily she can't eat it all and I get her leftovers.Nothing fancy about the place either. Everyone eats outside under ceiling fans overlooking the backwaters of southport. They take an order hold a ticket until you're done. The food and alcohol are on the honor system which works great for them. May I recommend a cheeseburger and a half puns of shrimp. Pretty tasty combo
Let's see...I'll post some of my favorites based on my traveling experiences with the shipyard.
I visit Kings Bay, GA a bit. I discovered Brazilian steakhouses in Jacksonville, specifically Terra Gauche Brazilian Steakhouse.

If you've never been to a Brazilian steakhouse, then you're truly missing out.
Imagine going to your favorite, good steakhouse and being able to eat as much of each and every kind of meat they have on the menu, for as long as you can bear to sit there and eat.
A Brazilian steakhouse typically has two lunch/dinner prices. One just involves the gourmet salad bar/hot bar. The other is the "full rodizio experience". (Rodizio means all you can eat)
Here's how it works:
Obviously you give your drink orders. Then you proceed to the salad bar which is LOADED with all kinds of stuff, depending on the restaurant. Cheeses, sliced gourmet meats, veggies of all kinds prepared lots of different ways. And the hot bar with a variety of soups, stews, or whatnot.
When you get back to your table, beside every place setting there will be a red/green disc or other small object. When you're ready for meat, turn this over green side up.
LIKE MAGIC a waiter will appear next to you with a skewer of meat! He'll describe to you what it is and ask you if you'd like some and what temperature. He'll slice off however much you want and you use the tongs at your setting to place it on your plate.
When he leaves, if you don't turn the disc red side up, ANOTHER WAITER WILL APPEAR with ANOTHER skewer of meat!
When you've had enough (for now) flip the disc red side up. Want more later? Green side up again.
Take a gander at the pics of the 10 meats at Terra Gauche:

Texas de Brazil in Norfolk, VA has 16 meats on their menu.

Tuscanos Brazilian Grill in Greenville, SC has 19 meats (and for specialty skewers):

Does anyone know if Brasa in Brier Creek is the same thing?
I just drove an hour and a half to get pizza & wings at Christo's in Salisbury, NC and it was worth it... pure gluttony and I don't care... lol
I enjoy a short boat cruise to The Provision Company in Holden's Beach. The one in Southport is also good.
The Fish House at Blue Water Point on Oak Island is wonderful. They still have stuffed flounder even though it is not on the menu.
Shirley's Diner in Leland just across the river from Wilmington has always had great food. I love their fried pork chops.
I ate at Casey's the other day and was impressed. Carolina BarBQ in Wilmington is a favorite place for mass quantities of good food.
B's BarBQ in Greenville is a religious experience
Yes, it is. From their website...
Brazil is known for its tradition of handsome gauchos riding the vast pampas herding beef cattle. The churrascarias, or steakhouses, feature rodízio service—a unique style featuring roasted meats served by passadores (meat servers), who visit the table with skewers of various kinds of meat—beef, pork, filet mignon, lamb, chicken, sausage, and even pineapple.
Thanks.
